Can I know wad are the difference between maxis, digi, USA, Hong Kong, Singapore iphone set? Why do they categorize it into all these?

Here are something I know about them...

1) Maxis iphone- you can buy it paying installment together with maxis plan. But does it mean you can only use it with maxis sim or anything else?
2)Digi iphone- similar understanding with above in digi context.
3)USA iphone- wad is this? means malaysia cant use or get warranty?
4)Hong Kong iphone- ?
5) Singapore iphone- ?

Why do they categorize it until like this? someopne mind explaining it to me please? Coz I wanna get an iphone soon and I hope i can has a grasp at some knowledge before getting one.

(1), (2): Both Maxis and DiGi sells factory unlocked iPhone, which means the iPhone can be used with any telco's MicroSim card.
(3), (4), (5): USA iPhone is factory locked phone, which means it can be only used with AT&T carrier sim unless you unlock it manually. Hong Kong & Singapore iPhone are factory unlocked iPhone, same like iPhone sold by Maxis and DiGi (you can use with any sim). For ALL iPhone, you can only claim warranty at the country it came from. Which means USA iPhone can only claim warranty in USA.

It may not be the case. The Google page you seen might be a cached website. There require no data connection to display a cached website.

Note: Try to on WiFi and load Google. Then close Safari and off any connection. Go Safari again and you can see Google is loaded.

To make sure you don't get charged by Maxis, just turn off Cellular data in Settings>General>Network if you are on iOS4.0+.

I went thru back and forth apple store Malaysia don't have (but US got), I go machines website also don't have. I even tried to add APP for IP4 thru US Apple Store but when viewed at Apple Store MY, my cart is empty sad.gif

Yes there is no AppleCare Protection Plan in Malaysia.

And US iTunes Store and MY iTunes Store are different stores. If you buy apps at US Store, you will see your item added into US Store cart but not MY Store. And not all contents are available in MY Store.
