yesterday passed by the Sg. Chua/Bkt Angkat interchange via SILK Highway and saw no flood there, everything is clear. Could it be the flood at the alternate road coming from Minlon near Serdang area ?

Access Road maybe.

At those areas where it is less than 40m above sea level as it is the among lowest in kajang.

Actually, the worst ones are those in the older town area where there is a market just next to the river.

Yesterday, Sg. Kuyoh overflowed, so Serdang were affected.

Kajang definitely is a black spot for flood. Cannot be denied. It is just like klang. When think of flood these two places must be in the list.

My friend who is staying in JH told me that the flood was actually near Minlon access road (Serdang area) when she drove back from work yesterday evening and caught in terrible jam along the Sg. Besi highway. There was no flood at all in JH as what claimed by the newspaper.

Flood is luxury cars' worst nightmare. Several times already I saw rich fella driving X6, X5, Range rover, thinking that they can pass through flood because tall SUV. then at midst of passing through, engine shutdown. stranded in the middle while the water keep rising. Best to stay away from flood area if you are driving those cars. however i have also seen iswara crossing with water deep enough until cannot see tyres but no problem.

If the car is slow moving, an experienced driver can get pass the flood but if it is a stand still traffic jam & one needs to stuck in the flood then possibly the water will go into the exhaust wink.gif

Kajang is not low lying like Bangkok but is actually minimum 30+m above sea level.

This is why it is a flash flood that subside very fast as well.

Obviously the local government needs to do something but the funding needs to be supported by relevant party.

The Star reported Country Heights flood very serious.

The flood " was causes by nearby development"

I guess, gamuda Jadehill might have contributed some to country height's recent flood. This because JadeHill is higher than Country Height

Flood near Minlon? That is the whole stretch of Besraya that is seriously affected. No one can drive through at 8pm cos the whole road was flooded. Then by 11pm, the road was clear except from Mines to Minlon..

Regarding country heights flood, is it the houses inside or those houses outside country heights? If inside, really charm loh.

I know Sungai Ramal Dalam used to flood cos I wanted to buy a bungalow there (very cheap). When I went to survey the house, I saw a faint brown line 3 ft high on the wall. I immediately told my spouse that place is prone to flooding.

this mpk page says kajang is <1m above sea level.

If viewed from the angle of the topography, the Mukim Kajang is located on high ground, about 76.250 cm above sea level. Most of the surface of the landscape is full of hills and mountains. Land flat in areas such as Sungai Langat river basin, River Heights, Sungai Semenyih and Sungai Chua. These areas are places the beginning of the first cleared for placement in the Mukim of Kajang.

Clearly typing error in their page, it should be m and not cm.

If you know the topography of Malaysia, East of Kajang is all mountain and west of Kajang is gradually sloping down to the sea. That's why we said that KL is located on west coast, separated by the mountain in the middle.

that's why it is kuala lumpur is called Klang VALLEY, it is valley of the mountain.

If you say Klang, then maybe.
