frequent formatting of the HD will result in faster wear and tear on the harddisk platters.

i also realise that constant downloading of torrents also decreases the lifespan of hdd's.

i normally change hdd's every year and a half due to extensive usage(when u start hearing a funny loud sound then its time.haha)

ssd time....

open ure hdd casing...look at the platters....
and SMASH IT with a hammer.

(watch out for flying particles)
