I have had problems with my HDD for 2 times since I start using my PC. Whenever I heard loud clicking sounds, my heart start clicking too
Warning: Heavy HDD usage kills (esp. BT, install~uninstall games, defrag too often) |

QUOTE(Wuahaha @ Mar 31 2006, 12:19 PM) I have had problems with my HDD for 2 times since I start using my PC. Whenever I heard loud clicking sounds, my heart start clicking too After suffering from "random click sound and hang" while in game for 2+ months. My Maxtor 160GB finally kick the bucket, as it wont boot to Windows anymore. Arghhh .... music, video and data gone Warning: Heavy HDD usage kills (esp. BT, install~uninstall games, defrag too often) This post has been edited by lex: May 3 2006, 05:06 PM |

QUOTE(earthkid @ Jul 2 2006, 03:59 PM) i have a maxtor HDD, for everytime i start up my pc...whenever i hear a 'clang' sound from the HDD, my pc will hang...need help to know what's the problem...thanks guys~ I've the same problem with my 160GB HDD and usually happen when I load up a game. Used to think that my HDD has bad sectors, but scanned with Maxtor's tool it says healthy. Could be caused by something else eg. software, OS, IDE controller, old mobo or maybe other hardware. |
