Well talking about dead HDDs, I am pretty worried about mine.
Since I changed casing, my HDD temp is, well appaling.
THis is due to the silent setup of my casing, therefore the front fan is actually quite weak from what I see.
My old iCute casing with aeroplane fans in front game my HDD temp around 40+ degrees.
Currently my HDDs now are at 48 degrees most of the time, sometimes incraesaing to 50 degrees. And I am talking about the HDD temp. itself, not the chipset, the chipset is normally a good 3 to 5 degree higher than the HDD temp.
So is this safe? Should I forget the silent setup and swap the fron fan with a powerful fan?
I stack 4 HDD in a row, because my casing got 5 slots, hence the temp is pretty high.
