decide to change to seagate (raid 0) 6 months ago and it fail me just yesterday morning.

is it because i betray maxtor for changing to seagate.......... biggrin.gif ?
maybe it just happen that i got the bad one probably.

CSI is tv show la. Sometimes is true, sometimes is not true. If you are taking statistic for a long enough period, i guess there is no one good brand. Likewise, there is no one bad brand too. Every company has so many different batches of products, and no one company is always on top. Intel went down too, and AMD had it's peak. But now Intel up again, and AMD is down.

Rounded Cables

Some companies have gotten really cute with the design of what has become known as rounded cables. Depending on the manufacturer, the ribbons are sliced into single or multiple strands and then bundled tightly. In most cases, there should be no problems, however, there have been numerous suspicions on many bulletin boards about rounded cables causing higher coaster rates while burning CDs. Likewise, users of rounded cables appear to suffer from abnormally high failure rates of HDDs. Again, this could be pure coincidence but it is food for thought, at least.

just wanna ask 1 question
is above statement means v r not advised to use rounded SATA cables??
mine is rounded SATA cable, how to solve this problem icon_question.gif

I guess you haven't tried leaving them on 24/7 for 365 days or the latest problematic firmware batch from Seagate sad.gif

You might lose data if the files get orphaned or stuck in the drive cache.

IMO of course there is because you will never know the procedure during the postage as they might not treat the package carefully.

well, assuming they do their job properly and carefully, do the foams prevent damages to the hdd from shock and vibration?
or lets say they just going thru shock and vibration just that one time and i take care of it really carefully for its whole life, does the hdd lifespan will be reduced significantly?

I agree with Xelrix and most of time oversea seller will do a good job make sure it is properly pack however it is the handling that is always the problem ... it might get tossed around as they can't understand what fragile means ... Good luck ordering you HDD and pray it comes in one piece.
