Oh, one more thing. Keep your finger off the trigger. Only have it on the trigger when you are aiming at your opponent and ready to shoot.
I've seen a lot of players shooting themselves in the foot and/or teammates. This doesn't only happen with newbies, mind you. I've seen regular players do it as well. They tend to get hurt a lot more due to burst/full auto/ramp shots and much, much more hilarious to watch.
