Probably both. With the lack of updates despite the current problems with the firmware and the frequent doubts as to when the phone will turn into a brick all contributes to a feeling of loss of excitement. Rather so it has degraded to a wait and fear of when or if the phone is gonna die on us.

I am very tempted as lately my phone has also started showing some symptoms like battery draining, reboots and hangs. The hangs I can live with as it could be due to the firmware being so new but the battery drains and reboots are scaring the shit out of me. I hope it does not detoriate further than this. Every night I go to sleep, first thing I do in the morning is check if the phone is still alive.

I bought this phone as a birthday present for myself and my wife was like 'wah... going for new launched model again ah? U remember this 5800 or not? U were complaining like mad woh...' and so on. Really wished I switched religion at that time.

Hey look, the forums or blogs say that in December 2010 the production line will resolve the problems. So it's only logical (I am NOT MR SPOCK!!!!) to deduce that all boards in the market is from the 1st batch. Any replacement parts or phones from the 1st batch (btw, how do we identify that???? Any clues NOKIA?) will eventually face issues.

So, what's gonna happen now? I guess like all MY Boleh, we will just resign ourselves to our fate.

Acutally the bar is animated during charging and when I captured it was only 2 bars. What baffles me is that it shows 90% charged and needs another 2hrs and 50 minutes to go. Hmmm... looks like I might end up with a dead phone soon.

BTW, it rebooted twice today out of nowhere, once during a call and another it was just idling. Went out to toilet and suddenly it's asking for my pin number.

I don't really know how it took to charge. Just left it there and went to sleep. I am so afraid of waking up to a brick that now I plug it in every night when I sleep.

Yea.. it's to be expected. But what I cannot believe is the totally absolute positive comments left on the story. Left a big rant on the page and all I got was my comment has to be moderated. I believe that this is a BIG PR PROPAGANDA BY NOKIA. Read the comments on the story and give your input. It's time the consumers get some rights.
