how long u can get from tethering? if not mistaken i can get about 150 minutes (2 1/2 hours) MAX... 
and then the N8 feel like toaster... 

If you keep an adapter connected to the N8 while tethering (say in a hotel), no problem?

From my experience of tethering, the batt will still drain even on charger... but not that fast only....

I guess it depends on what were you doing on the phone.... 

Sometimes its better to search the internet before making judgement like Nokia invented a new display technology. What Nokia do is put together a package with components that are being sourced from someone else. They dont invent AMOLED, etc.

u will still be charge no matter gsm/3g... in gsm it will use the edge connection which cost sama saja tapi slower then 3g summor.... 

yesterday dumb dumb wifi connected but stuck and hold at 100mw transmission power till today during driving to work... i baru aware "aik how come my house wifi signal can reach till 10km away from the house... what the *&^%%$$&*"...

now my phone have less then 30% juice left.... 

yup... the wifi normally will use 40mW (~10mA) if the wifi signal is strong, but when the signal getting weak it will pump up the transceiver to 100mW (~25mA) for better reception... but too bad yesterday if i'm not mistaken the wifi must be stuck after playing with those webtv apps...
