Report all unauthorized purchased, when you check your purchase history inside iTunes. I've experienced unauthorized breach of my iTunes account, and the perpetrator used my credit to purchase multiple apps and games totaling up to USD77 before I manage to change the password from within iTunes and stopped him from purchasing further. I reported to Apple using the Purchase History option inside iTunes and report all these fraudulent unauthorized purchases, and Apple reimbursed me back with the credits stolen. It is easy to prove my case, since I only by apps related to my work, and games that fits my profile, and the perpetrator who logged into my account bought nonsensical apps and games that doesn't suit my purchasing habit/profile. Apple has these purchasing habit/profile in hand, and I got my refund after investigation was completed in 48 hours. I then proceed to immediately change to a stronger password.
Bottom line is, report if not purchased. Keep an eye on your purchasing history, I kept mine in the form of email sent to the Apple ID email I've used with my login details, so that every time there is an unauthorized purchase, it will trigger the Purchase email being sent to my mailbox and kept me informed. These email receipts from Apple saved me from losing more credits when this incident happened.
I use iTunes Gift card as well for my US iTunes account, and Apple is more than happy to refund the said amount back to me. Of course in my case, it was a substantial amount, USD77. Irregardless, if you can prove your case to Apple, they will investigate and refund.
