Dell 24" Full HD LCD will be good. I have 2 x 22" and 1 x 24" Dell LCD. 22" model both exchange once coz can't power up. The warranty service is great - they send over a new one within days and collect the spoilt one at the same time.

But their 27" is really too expensive - almost can buy a 42" Full HD LCD TV with the same price. So I just got myself the Samsung P2770H today - massive size. I think it is the maximum "desktop" monitor one can use. Larger than that you will need to turn your head left and right often. Kinda dizzy when I sat too close to it while playing Bad Company 2 just now. Need to stay further back to be more comfortable. But watching movie or TV series is awesome.
