Which one has better colour accuracy? Dell 2209WA or U2311H? I mostly use for photo editing and web browsing.

Oh, looks like the problem is similar to my old 2007wfp whereby the gamma value is different between left and right.
Now i'm looking for my 2nd lcd monitor and actually i also prefer the 2209wa for its 16:10 ratio.
*
16:10 LCDs are a rare breed these days as manufacturers move to 16:9 .It's more of a business choice since 16:9 monitors are cheaper to make than 16:10.

The U2711 has a much higher resolution which is 2560x1440 instead of 1920x1080,plus it's factory calibrated to show the most accurate colour. That's the difference between the U2711 and LCD TVs in the same price range.
Based on the things you want to do,a LCD TV will serve you better since it's larger and the res isn't as high [For 2560x1440 you'll want something like the GTX570/GTX480/HD6850 CF/GTX460 SLI to play games at nice settings]

120Hz definitely worth the investment if you like smooth animation across screen, but if you can't see any different between those 2, then goes with 60Hz to save those up for better graphics card.
Also IINM (If I'm Not Mistaken) 120Hz can do 3D gaming/movie provided your device (console, blu-ray player, etc.) or PC is 3D Ready.

I read the news that LG LCD was fine , so do you think LCD price will getting cheaper or drop next year since LG was the OEM for most LCD panel ?

Price will definitely drop but will drop slowly and probably face out quick.
There's also some limits to the production cost as well so there'll be a minimum selling point before it's face out and replace by newer one.

1 year from shop, 3 years from Samsung. But if LCD got problem better just go Samsung service center. You bring to shop, they bring to Samsung service center. hmm.gif

If it has better features, colors, etc then it's normal to be a bit more expensive smile.gif Nevertheless, I don't think Samsung is overpriced, look at Dell Ultrasharp or Apple Cinema display and that's what I call super expensive.

featured-wise, i think most of them have equal or slightly less than the samsung counterparts.. but now since it's samsung, its price shud be higher tongue.gif

perhaps i used d wrong word.. i shudnt put it as 'overpriced' but 'samsung price' instead.. laugh.gif
