M4/3rd lenses Olympus pricing

9-18 f4 = RM2000
14-42 f3.5 II = RM960
14-150 f4 = RM2100
40-150 f4 = RM960
75-300 f4.8 = RM2400
17 f2.8 = RM960

olympus pricing taken from CAMERA IMAGING SOLUTION SDN BHD
LOT:No:T1-19 , First Floor , Berjaya Times Square
No:1 JLN Imbi,55100 Kuala Lumpur

M4/3rd lenses Panny pricing
WIDE 7-14MM =RM3350
HIGH ZOOM 14-140MM=RM2800
PANCAKE LENS 20MM=RM1350
TELELENS 45-200MM=RM1330
TELELENS 14-45MM=RM1080

panasonic pricing from BINTANG ELECTRONICS
G7-8,BB PLAZA ,JALAN BUKIT BINTANG 55100
KUALA LUMPUR

best prime auto lens currently are 20mm f1.7 price is about 1.2k to 1.4k market price~ (a well known pancake in M4/3rd world)

mostly M4/3rd user will choose panasonic lenses tested on quality & fine + sharp image can get w/ using panny~

for standard zoom lens the best will be 14-45 from panasonic too~ comparing with others 14-42 oly & panny lenses~ (taken from pros around the web)

but if u have no budget olympus lenses are your choice~ IF even oly lens also u cant afford then old school lenses are your choice~ the reason i buying a M4/3rd rather to get a DSLR is because this too~ manual lenses works well on M4/3rd too~ vivitar 28mm f2.8 & super takumar 55mm f2 is what i get these few days~ (PK & M42 mount needed) but remember~ old school lenses are X2 means i'm getting 28x2= 56mm & another 55x2=110mm lens~

saying goodbye to m4/3 :~(.. selling off my oly e-pl1, going to full DSLR due to work.. will share somemore pictures soonish!
*
too bad~ if for work sure DSLRs are more suitable due to images quality but i rather carry a M4/3rd for walking around travel around few hours for great photos~ it's torture to carry a DSLR with battery grip, tripod, 2~3 lenses, flashgun, cleaning kit, there'll be few KG to carry~

@kl911 @contreasjun27

need it for what?? i'm more active here or fb ><" anyway PMed

Why DSLR must equate to battery grip, tripod, 2~3 lenses, flashgun, cleaning kit?
*
Not necessary but I will if i going for photo shooting.
Just in case, I can carry my epl + 2 manual 3 manual (cctv 28 & 55)
With me extra battery a mini tripod that support my epl, some cleaning tools.
& it just feels light inside my bag ^^ not like a dslr lens heavier, body heavier, tripod heavier.. doh.gif doh.gif

talking about portability, actually i've been carry my camera around i dont feel much diff from a DLSR in terms of size.. changing lenses makes it bulky unless  permanent using a pancake lens. Weight wise yes definitely but size not much diff if lenses are included, infact i will miss the fun of it sad.gif...

i think if you plan to travel with m4/3 and don't want to carry too much stuff, just equip with permanent pancake and treat it as a compact digital camera or do-it-all lens like 14-150mm else pretty much the same. Say small not super small say big not super big. For DLSR traveller usually just carry a do-it-all lens..

for me due to work sad.gif
*
actually its depends~ a 20mm pancake + 35mm cctv + 35-80mm oldschool (x2=70~160mm) + 135mm (x2=270mm)
i can say 20mm + 35cctv also not heavier or bigger than a DSLR kit lens~ ><" what you want to shoot?? all range are there ><"
35cctv RM230~250 + 3580 RM180~250?? + 135mm RM300~350 = about RM800 but a 14-150mm cost 2k++ ?? ><"

@kl911

that's a great lens you've chosen if you're using M43 i wouldnt recommend you to get others lenses~ & if you're not familiar with manual focus~ it would be a pain to get old school lenses~ + these type of old school lenses (Zoom lens) are hard to get around malaysia~ if you dont mind all the issue then EBAY would be your best place to get a zoom M42 or PKmount old school lens (remember you have to get another mount for M42-M43 or PK-M43)~

& i mean if you want to get every range lenses when u want to shoot something then u will probably spend most of your time to change your lens furthermore it's not really fast focus if you compare with M43 with Auto Focus lenses~ every shoot is a pain~ cause it's slow~ but sometimes it's fun to play with it~ cause u definitely cant get the same price range with M43 Lens~ sweat.gif

i know what are u trying to say, i been using this camera for a year now.. it is still not a compact that u could just put it in a handbag with all these lenses included, u'll still need a camera bag. Unless just perma equip 20mm, take out snap thats it.. moreover with all these lenses u have by the time u choose suitable lens for the 'object' u prolly missed it already. But with do-it-all lens zoom in and out its more convenient. 14-150mm you could buy with bundle and most of the do-it-all lens cost RM1.7k-2k+ well for me its reasonable. This is just my opinion, remember just my point of view instead you being overreacted making me looks like "DLSR" fan boy. Ive used a year now E-PL1 for my work and i spend quite big sum accessories on it too.. so i know where am i coming from smile.gif

of course i know changing lenses thingy~ I remember I read something~ A good photographer wont snap all the Brilliant moment~
they catch all the Moment to be Brilliant~ means when something seems to be very IMPORTANT & GREAT, Feels like if i'm not freezing this moment i would regret for LIFE~
but the thing is you cant catch all the MOMENT (different story if you said it's for working purpose) & you have to let it go sometimes~

photography is not saying how great a photo is but How you enjoy playing with it or sharing the Moment YOU CREATED~

my 2 cents ~ that's why peoples said 70~80's they made photography as ART but nowadays ppl making it as a TOOL~
learning what is exposure triangle & focus on manual lens make old lenses unique & every single shoot take times~
that's why we care of every shoot we shot~ but u can say most of the peoples "playing" photography they used to shoot a great photo in 50~100 repeatedly shoots~

that's not an ART, it's just simply lying on technology & telling others I can shoot like a pro~

when playing with manual lenses you'll feels each shoot is a chance~ if you miss it you cant shoot another 1~
so you care, you prepare, you'll enjoying in it~ that is how i feel, this is what i cant found in Auto Focus High Technical Image Stabilization Lenses~

even a blur not well focus photo makes me feels great because i'm enjoying it~

anyway different person will have diff needs so that might just for me~
& i'm agree with you DSLRs are greater than a M43 but what it cant do is weight~
i like DSLRs too cause there's BRUNCHES of lenses, filter, more easy to found 3rd party accessories & stuff~

but i'm not a professional so i think M43 feed my needs, Happy photographing thumbup.gif

yeap~ i notice that~ when i screw it in to fit the lens nicely while after i focusing on something i try to remove the ring+filter~ it's like loosing while i just fit it well~ but then just dont screw too hard, dont screw when there cant be fit well & stuff like that~ cause u really can stuck the ring on the lens when u screw it really hard or screw wrongly~ i will just screw to fit still i can screw a little bit more but will try to loosen it a little just in case~ ^^"

^^" M43 for me cause the size & the weight, might wanna get a Nikon after bored with it~ but since it's still new in the market i believe that will be improve in the future about those disadvantage u guys mention up there~ cause still the image quality are acceptable for me~ So i think i'm ok with it at least these 2~3years just it's too hard to get a macro shot accessories ><" only 45mm macro & it cost 2.8k?? buying it is a pain after 20mm 1.7 ==" current spent about 4k+ on this system ><" everything included, next month will heading to 5k for nikon Oldish MF lenses ^^"
