LCD screen is brighter than plasma panel, that is absolutely true

LCD panel can actually last very long, it is the florescent light source that is the weakest link, usually the first to burn out, LED light source could extend the LCD life longer

plasma panel response time is legendary, no other technology other than CRT can match it

money is in your pocket, buy whatever inches TV you like

to prevent permanent image retention on plasma, don't leave static image on plasma screen for too long

Does plasma have issues with prolonged usage ? Non static images or logo, just prolonged usage of around 10 hours.

panasonic year 2010 plasma claimed to have 100,000 hour lifespan, so in your case using for 10 Hr/day, plasma panel can last for 27 years, but I think the electronics will kaput long before that brows.gif

to prevent plasma permanent image retention, the key point is to avoid feeding static image to plasma for too long, make sure you enable screen saver in your source equipment
