Does plasma have issues with prolonged usage ? Non static images or logo, just prolonged usage of around 10 hours.

QUOTE(neb @ Nov 23 2010, 04:29 PM) panasonic year 2010 plasma claimed to have 100,000 hour lifespan, so in your case using for 10 Hr/day, plasma panel can last for 27 years, but I think the electronics will kaput long before that My worse enemy is the Burn in issue. Im gonna hook up a HTPC and I read that its not recommended if I'm going to use it with a PC. |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Nov 23 2010, 10:01 PM) if you use HTPC on Plasma and surfs internet for long time yeah posibble... Added on November 23, 2010, 10:02 pmfor your HDMI sound check sound in control panel for settings if there is no option then your graphic do not support QUOTE(neb @ Nov 23 2010, 10:13 PM) to prevent plasma permanent image retention, the key point is to avoid feeding static image to plasma for too long, make sure you enable screen saver in your source equipment So end of the day.. plasma = no ps3, no pc gaming, no HTPC LCD = all but inferior PQ |

QUOTE(hz428 @ Nov 24 2010, 10:51 AM) hey i wanna ask, if for gaming purpose only (PS3) is good to get plasma? i notice those 50Hz thingy, when the camera pan, it feel slow. I wonder does any LCD or plasma within the 2k to 3k range comes with Full HD and faster than 50Hz?(100hz) Added on November 24, 2010, 10:52 amoh ya, 40 to 42" QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Nov 24 2010, 10:54 AM) For games and action packed movies /sports channel Plasma will perform better but it depends on the games Agreed with Calvin on getting LCD with higher refresh rates. I hardly see any games with no fixed HUD or GUI or scoreboard.Games with alot of fixed images like side control bar.. etc will caused burn in effect... Try get a LCD with higher refresh rates... if you decided to hook up games/htpc ![]() So I'm getting an LCD instead. |
