ar^(n-1) > 11

45056 x 0.25^(n-1) > 11

(n-1) log 0.25 > log (1/4096)

n-1 < 6

n < 7

n = 6
*
I know. But why does the sign changes direction? I don't really know the rule when it comes to changing the sign. < and >.

Why so? I thought sound travels faster in denser mediums. Like sound travels faster in solid than in air. So shouldn't sound travel faster in denser air? Provided there are more molecules for vibration of sound to take place. I'm not sure about this so please correct me if im wrong.

I think you should not link it to the kinetic theory of the matter =D in this case you should see it through the properties of  wave....correct me if I am wrong =D
*
No technically it's not about the kinetic theory. It's stated in my book. The spped of sound in solids is greater than speed of sound in liquid / gases.

Sound travels in air at about 330 / water 1400 and solids eg concrete at 5000ms.

Q1.New mean = 70, which means 3(20)+q = 70
q=70-60=10

i dont understand this particular part. ):

so with x1 x2 x3 x4 x5 having a mean of 20. We just assume x1 = 20?
