QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 23 2010, 05:29 PM) Harddisk temperature in A42JE is ridiculous, reaching 51C after gaming, that hotter than CPU! How you guys A42 series harddisk temperature? Monitored using HWMonitor, I don't know whether it wrong or not Playing BC2 online with med-high settings will reach some where that temp after 2+ hours. But i use a cooling pad so its not too bad. Its actually cooler than my previous toshiba laptop.QUOTE(karyaw @ Dec 23 2010, 09:25 PM) For a42ja- 3 hours if only internet browsing using power4gear battery saving mode. Watching movie - will go down fast lol. I didnt try gaming with the battery because the heat is bad for the battery and laptopQUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Dec 23 2010, 11:45 PM) Yup |

Just bought the U45JC for RM2789 with RAM upgrade to 4Gb. Dunno if good bargain or not, but then I'm running out of time. SA did unboxing for me for RAM upgrade.
Now to see if the battery is as good as advertised. |

Its actually cooler than my previous toshiba laptop. Shoot! I didn't know it. Peaking at 53C hen playing GTA IV. Surprised this laptop could actually play GTA IV very well, even at native 1366x768 High details! No shadows though, any dab of shadows would ruin the framerate. But I reduced the resolution to 1280x720 to make it more playable. Overclocked the GPU to 850MHz core and 950MHz memory (200MHz faster than stock!)The latest 400 BIOS they say would increase battery life further by reducing power consumption of the speaker, and it did. I watched two episodes of Top Gear (1 hour each) on it and still have 34% left with estimated 49 minutes of runtime. That is astonishing, considering it done with onboard speaker and Windows Aero on. Browsing time is 3+ hours as well. Only problem is, the GPU won't downclock to 2D speed when idle, which I have reported to ASUS about this problem. |

If there is an 8 cell battery out there, I'll be one of the first to get it.

QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Dec 3 2010, 06:06 AM) Hmm.. 0.3MP = 640x480 resolution, again I don't get what's the big fuss about it... Video quality is mainly dependent on internet connection itself... As fast as streamyx goes, IMO 1.3 & 2.0MP looks like 0.3MP also because bad internet connection would automatically reduce ur image quality/resolution for it to run smooth... 0.3MP is more than enough for things such as profile pics and stuffs, well not that I would use the webcam as a camera anyways... Well, unless you really wanna use ur webcam for photo taking, don't really see much difference between them... However, the video of Asus webcam is a bit yellowish and white balance totally out... Again, that's really a minor thing... i'm not emphasize about the image quality for video talk on the internet...i want to know the quality of ASUS webcam cause my fyp is using webcam to run..so, ur opinion is ASUS webcam is not gud?(not for video connection) |
