Erm, I have a question. If i use other people's network and plug in my cable. Will it divide which program to use which network's connection?

well, during idle mode, the temp is around 56C on average, during heavy load (during metro 2033) it jump up to 80C ++, it might be hotter if played a lil longer i guess. but i didnt use any cooler, my lappy just place on the wooden table. so i believe the temperature can be reduce more if i use a cooler.

iii) the thing that i needed the most is unavailable at this a42ja  there is absolutely no hotkey. all of it use the Fn+ type of hotkey. absolutely no other button except for the keyboard n the switch on power button, the rest use the Fn+ hotkey. if only they can provide hotkey for volume, i would really appreciate it. huhu
btw, im quite curious, from the speccy software i use, it mention there the cpu that is on the a42ja is i7 820QM... shouldn't it be i7 740m? is it the same? thanks in advance for the answer...

Harddisk temperature in A42JE is ridiculous, reaching 51C after gaming, that hotter than CPU! How you guys A42 series harddisk temperature? Monitored using HWMonitor, I don't know whether it wrong or not

Shoot! I didn't know it. Peaking at 53C hen playing GTA IV. Surprised this laptop could actually play GTA IV very well, even at native 1366x768 High details! No shadows though, any dab of shadows would ruin the framerate. But I reduced the resolution to 1280x720 to make it more playable. Overclocked the GPU to 850MHz core and 950MHz memory (200MHz faster than stock!)

The latest 400 BIOS they say would increase battery life further by reducing power consumption of the speaker, and it did. I watched two episodes of Top Gear (1 hour each) on it and still have 34% left with estimated 49 minutes of runtime. That is astonishing, considering it done with onboard speaker and Windows Aero on. Browsing time is 3+ hours as well. Only problem is, the GPU won't downclock to 2D speed when idle, which I have reported to ASUS about this problem.

Guys. I'm using the A42JA as usual. And the weird thing is, an acer laptop which has lower specs than mine can beat me in loading time. I play the game Heroes of Newerth and usually my friend's laptop loads faster than mine. he is using a ATI 5450 and i5 if im not mistaken. How do i make my laptop faster? o.O

You already pinpont the location, what prevent you from putting it there? The vent is from CPU and GPU HSF while the bottom left is the harddrive.

my A42ja gets to 100 degrees while playing FIFA11.. and the fan turns at a very high speed when i ALT+TAB during the game..   

What about if idle ?

idle is fine.. 40 to 50.. sometimes 60 too

my friend tohiba laptop adapter is very small and very light. can use on asus laptop also.

guys...i just use driver genius to detect...lol..i got many driver not yet update..such as realtek audio manager and some is intel core driver and intel g card driver if i not mistaken..beside my blue tooth driver also not update..should i update all ??? my A42JV

A42J series microphone is really bad... There's nth u can do about it except using an external one

Okay so i bought a headphones with a mic with it. It only uses 1 headphone jack. But now i plug in i choose headset / microphone / headphones , the speaker only can work, but the microphone tak boleh guna. Why ah? I plug into my ipod can work perfectly.

If u mean the ones used in iPhone, no it won't work unfortunately... I initially thought it would too, but it doesn't, I also try buying a 1 3.5mm to 2 3.5mm splitter, but doesn't work also...

The only way is to find those usb to audio connectors

Well thanks, but i prefer to get asus as my current laptop is compaq. 

With i7 under RM 3 k....thats hard....but the Asus A42JP (despite i5) works well. Or you could go for Asus A42JA (slighty above 3k or u try nego it to RM 3k)

CPU and GPU in laptop could handle up to 110C (depends on architecture), don't go for "water boiling" danger, because transistor ain't made from water. Having quads in small formfactor do have its downside especially when coupled with midrange GPU. Do you use laptop cooler in the first place?
