Yeah true and agreed. But these days I'm having a fetish for round bokeh.

As far as I know, new Nikkor lens with 9 rounded blades can't produce cat's eye bokeh. Only the old lens non asperical ones can.

Well, it's whether you are willing or not to do manual focus or auto focus. If you buy the D lens, you will have to go for manual all the way. G lens, and you have auto.

Auto is awesome. Especially when it DRAGS DOWN THE SHUTTER SPEED till I get lots of camera shake.

Nikon got 2 Auto Modes...
1 is with the pop-up flash and will auto configure all except ISO and will bring up the flash when needed
2nd is without the flash , i use it sometimes in a medium lit room , good picture produced

another one auto mode is the 'no flash' sign.. i thought all dslr have it..

really ah? with that setting, all is set to auto except flash.. so its also auto lah... hehe

If u set your camera to 1/3 stop clicks then yes. Its 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2, 2.2 2.6, 2.8 and so on... Of course this is all rounded to nearest one decimal point.
