Yes, personally i prefer 35mm too...
Thx a lot for the ans  smile.gif
35mm f/2d is an old lense, is it hardly find it in the camera shop just like 18-200 VR1? price to be announced for 35mm f/1.4, after visit some foreign website, the price is totally out of my budget >.<
Thx for the info...i am surveying to get between D90 and D7000...but the more i survey, the more i get poisoned  sad.gif
D7000 has been improve overall compare to D90, do you think the diff of $ worth for D7000? shooting is just my hobby and not my job.
my concern will be more on the camera capability in coming few years time than the value of $.
Eventhough i think this is not appropriate thread to ask here, but thr are some D90 users here, can advise little bit? thx thx  biggrin.gif

I think the extra RM1.2k is quite worth it. Honestly, the D7000 brings the mid-range level to a whole new level. It has the features of a D300 but packed in a mid-range body which is priced somewhere in between the mid-range and semi-pro.

Seems the thread closing, then i have repost here..
Need more advise... thx tongue.gif

This look nice for me...using 50 f/1.8?

btw, i am looking for lens filter 67mm. i know Hoya HD UV filter is easy to clean and worth to buy based on the post earlier in the thread.
went to a shop juz now, they do not have this filter, but offer me vitacon DMC (rm150) and kenko Pro 1 (rm200) instead. is this a good deal?
or have any good filter to introduce? i know B+W have a good comment too, bt heard that hoya HD is easier to clean...any comments?
thx thx.....

Seemsrather expensive if you ask me. Kenko Pro1D at RM 200 is more like a 77 or 82mm size. And vitacon... Please dont. You'll be disappointed by the quality, flare and what not. You can almost get a real Hoya HD or B+W at that price, that shop doesnt sound too honest.

thx alot for the info...i tink mayb bcoz i requesting hoya hd at the first place. so, they just recommend me a more exp filter. anyway, a normal kenko uv filter will be around RM20-30?how about hoya? can intro some cheapo filter that do not cause flare or good enuf for new dslr user? thx smile.gif

They were going to cut your throat by selling you a cheap filter for more than Hoya HD.

There is no such thing as cheap and good. Either cheap, or good. Take your pick.

That said, the good ones are Hoya S-HMC, HD, B+W SHMC, Heliopan HMC. Kenko is technically Hoya, the Pro1D is good. The cheap ones are uh... Most of the other brands. Kenko normal filters are under the cheap ones. Be careful of fake kenko/hoya stuff. Buy from a reputable shop. Ask members here depending on where you are from.

My advice is, if you're going to use a cheap filter, might as well dont use one. The pain is not worth it, you'll end up buying filters twice in the long run.

*
thx for your suggestion. i will go for more reliable one.
how is the price for hoya S-HMC and kenko Pro1D?any shop recommend?i am around balakong, and klang. working at balakong and going back klang every weekend..

Nobody answer? Nevermind, I will use my experiences and tell you. So if anyone would like to add further details or do some corrections, please do so  laugh.gif

Firstly, check the outlook for both Body and Lens, if you're happy with it, then proceed to the next stepsssss.  cool2.gif

For the Body:
1. check the Shutter Count, the lower the SC, the better it is, just like a car's milage. Google has a clearer explanation.
2. if the Body has motor and top LCD, make sure they both work well, it's sux if the motor doesn't work, it's sux if the top LCD can't light up.
3. test the Body with various memory cards, you don't want to have error while shooting, don't you? (sometimes it's the memory card that give trouble)
4. test Continuous shoot, will the shutter jam?  rclxub.gif
5. basically you'll have to test everything, every single functions and settings of the body, like ISO, pop-up flash, the condition of hot shoe, the buttons etc etc

As for the lens:
1. it's important that the rubber is still firm.
2. make sure it works on more than ONE Bodies.
3. play with aperture, the zoom if it has, play with it like a toy.
4. if the lens got dust and fungus inside, you can send it for cleaning.
5. if the contact points are dirty, gently use eraser to clean it.
6. if the lens is AF-S, make sure the motor inside is silent while auto focusing, no loud squeaky sound.

what else?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Remember, these are based on my personal experiences, correct me if I'm wrong  notworthy.gif

What do u mean by the rubber on lens? is it the rubber which is the lens body?
coz i do heard ppl say send the lens back to the centre to change the rubber before the warranty end.

so d7k+kitlen+50mm?
*
i have D7000 with kitlens for dslr entry level. so far quite satisfied with the performance.
i do have conflict such as you, to get a cheaper body and get more lense or better body...
After try out both body, decided for D7k (another case for posion?).
lens? will slowly get it one by one in the future depends on ur usage + $.

perhaps if you havent try out D7k, my suggestion will be, go and try out D7k and 50mm, c whether you satisfied with the lens or not.
also try 35 f/1.8...i prefer 35 f/1.8 after trying...

correct me if i am wrong, 35 f/1.8 suit for low light? nt sure... hmm.gif

50mm f/1.4G handles flare quite good. Pair it with XS-PRO and woohoo! thumbup.gif
Gold ring on 24-70 really weird one. Damn yellowish compared to other lens. doh.gif
Haha I love 24-70 too. 17-55 is not my range although many would love it for the DX.

I love 17-35 f/2.8 on FX though thumbup.gif
*
Sudden feel that edwardgsk is a very rich 90-ians..lol..
depending what you want to shoot. for portrait, 50 will be a good choice. but if you want shoot group picture (like graduation, gatherings), then 35 is better, juz in my opinion after trying...

for those nice pictures...not oni lens, skills play an important role...visit here more often den u will noe.. tongue.gif
