Ken Rockwell facts !
Ken Rockwell is the Chuck Norris of photography Ken Rockwell's camera has similar settings to ours, except his are: P[erfect] Av[Awesome Priority Tv[Totally Awesome Priority] M[ajestic] Ken Rockwell doesn't color correct. He adjusts your world to match his. Sure, Ken Rockwell deletes a bad photo or two. Other people call these Pulitzers. Ken Rockwell doesn't adjust his DOF, he changes space-time. Circle of confusion? You might be confused. Ken Rockwell never is. Ken Rockwell doesn't wait for the light when he shoots a landscape - the light waits for him. Ken Rockwell never flips his camera in portrait position, he flips the earth Ken Rockwell ordered an L-lens from Nikon, and got one. Ken Rockwell is the only person to have photographed Jesus; unfortunately he ran out of film and had to use a piece of cloth instead. When Ken Rockwell brackets a shot, the three versions of the photo win first place in three different categories Before Nikon or Canon releases a camera they go to Ken and they ask him to test them, the best cameras get a Nikon sticker and the less good get a Canon sticker Once Ken tested a camera, he said I cant even put Canon on this one, thats how Pentax was born Rockwellian policy isn't doublethink - Ken doesn't even need to think once Ken Rockwell doesn't use flash ever since the Nagasaki incident. Only Ken Rockwell can take pictures of Ken Rockwell; everyone else would just get their film overexposed by the light of his genius Ken Rockwell wanted something to distract the lesser photographers, and lo, there were ducks. Ken Rockwell is the only one who can take self-portraits of you Ken Rockwell's nudes were fully clothed at the time of exposure Ken Rockwell once designed a zoom lens. You know it as the Hubble SpaceTelescope. When Ken unpacks his CF card, it already has masterpieces on it. Rockwell portraits are so lifelike, they have to pay taxes On Ken Rockwell's desktop, the Trash Icon is really a link to National Geographic Magazine Ken Rockwell spells point-and-shoot "h-a-s-s-e-l-b-l-a-d" When Ken Rockwell went digital, National Geographic nearly went out of business because he was no longer phyically discarding photos For every 10 shots that Ken Rockwell takes, 11 are keepers. Ken Rockwell's digital files consist of 0's, 1's AND 2's. Ken Rockwell never focus, everything moves into his DoF Ken Rockwell's shots are so perfect, Adobe redesigned photoshop for him: all it consists of is a close button. The term tripod was coined after his silhouette Ken Rockwell never produces awful work, only work too advanced for the viewer A certain braind of hig-end cameras was named after people noticed the quality was a lot "like a" rockwell Ken Rockwell isn't the Chuck Norris of photography; Chuck Norris is the Ken Rockwell of martial arts. Ken Rockwell never starts, he continues This post has been edited by KTCY: Nov 18 2010, 10:03 AM |

Buying second hand items guidance for noob
QUOTE(ezrasang @ Dec 1 2010, 10:06 AM) Nobody answer? Nevermind, I will use my experiences and tell you. So if anyone would like to add further details or do some corrections, please do so This post has been edited by KTCY: Dec 1 2010, 10:14 AMFirstly, check the outlook for both Body and Lens, if you're happy with it, then proceed to the next stepsssss. For the Body: 1. check the Shutter Count, the lower the SC, the better it is, just like a car's milage. Google has a clearer explanation. 2. if the Body has motor and top LCD, make sure they both work well, it's sux if the motor doesn't work, it's sux if the top LCD can't light up. 3. test the Body with various memory cards, you don't want to have error while shooting, don't you? (sometimes it's the memory card that give trouble) 4. test Continuous shoot, will the shutter jam? 5. basically you'll have to test everything, every single functions and settings of the body, like ISO, pop-up flash, the condition of hot shoe, the buttons etc etc As for the lens: 1. it's important that the rubber is still firm. 2. make sure it works on more than ONE Bodies. 3. play with aperture, the zoom if it has, play with it like a toy. 4. if the lens got dust and fungus inside, you can send it for cleaning. 5. if the contact points are dirty, gently use eraser to clean it. 6. if the lens is AF-S, make sure the motor inside is silent while auto focusing, no loud squeaky sound. what else? Remember, these are based on my personal experiences, correct me if I'm wrong |

Thx a lot for the ans 35mm f/2d is an old lense, is it hardly find it in the camera shop just like 18-200 VR1? price to be announced for 35mm f/1.4, after visit some foreign website, the price is totally out of my budget >.< Thx for the info...i am surveying to get between D90 and D7000...but the more i survey, the more i get poisoned D7000 has been improve overall compare to D90, do you think the diff of $ worth for D7000? shooting is just my hobby and not my job. my concern will be more on the camera capability in coming few years time than the value of $. Eventhough i think this is not appropriate thread to ask here, but thr are some D90 users here, can advise little bit? thx thx QUOTE(Lucassss @ Nov 17 2010, 11:28 PM) I think the extra RM1.2k is quite worth it. Honestly, the D7000 brings the mid-range level to a whole new level. It has the features of a D300 but packed in a mid-range body which is priced somewhere in between the mid-range and semi-pro. Seems the thread closing, then i have repost here..Need more advise... thx |

ok.. @Vampyr3
which method u use for this photo? reverse lens? macro lens? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 2- Regarding shashinki.com's product with (import) behind the model name "Means it is not local unit by Futuromic. Parallel import in, if got problem you need to send back to your seller." Then why "import" model cheaper? Does D3100 video mode support manual focus? Thanks |

BenSow: parallel import sets are brought in Malaysia from other countries (Singapore, Thailand etc). Hence, Futuromic will NOT be responsible for your warranty claim.

im using B+W uv haze filter 67MRC... for the first time i think it is expensive and not worth to spend on it...but then when i compare with hoya filter...definitely makes a lot of difference in terms of light reflection and absorption... that is my opinion on accessories..."since u kill a cow, why not spend a little more on spices"... so i ended up spending over my budget on accessories lol =P

QUOTE(elainor @ Nov 18 2010, 12:51 AM) im using B+W uv haze filter 67MRC... for the first time i think it is expensive and not worth to spend on it...but then when i compare with hoya filter...definitely makes a lot of difference in terms of light reflection and absorption... that is my opinion on accessories..."since u kill a cow, why not spend a little more on spices"... so i ended up spending over my budget on accessories lol =P Which Hoya were you comparing it against?QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Nov 18 2010, 12:52 AM) 85mm doing ok ok I guess. Need to shoot more with it. So far not exactly happy, AF performance wasn't what I expected on D90. It was ok on other D3 and D700 I tested though. |

Sorry to interrupt the filter discussion... Just realized Nikon offered D3s + 24 1.4 + 24-70 2.8 as grand prize for NPCI 2010... Not like I stand any chance to win any but I look up all the page but can't get the entry form/entry page.
Anyone can find it? http://www.nikon-npci.com/ |

A friend (who is not really into photography) is selling his AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR for RM400! I've seen the lens myself and its true that its rarely used. Hardly any scratch and no fungus.
Should I grab it or save a bit more to get Siggy/Tammy 70-300 with macro feature to pair with my D90 ? |

Nikkor's optic quality is more superior compared to tammy and sigma. Just grab it.

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Nov 18 2010, 12:58 AM) UV filters are used to protect the front element of a lens. But the quality of the filter can affect the image quality. Correct. if you're using cheapo filter on the good glass then there's no point.as most sifus will tell you, if u intend on using cheap filters, might as well go naked... QUOTE(elainor @ Nov 18 2010, 01:00 AM) @celciuz: sorry mate i forget which model...i just remembered the price range was around rm60-70 while the B+W was around rm220-250... Yeah, those are just single coat filter as compared to your RM220-250 B+W which are multi coated. Not exactly a fair comparison. |

Have a quick search on google and/or youtube and you will understand how much more superior is D3100 over D3000.

Here is a good write up on flash sync speed to give some light on the subject matter.
http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/syncspeed.htm http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/syncspeed.htm#fp It's kinda funny to read about light having insufficient speed to reach the subject etc.. you need to know how the shutter works in the first place.. and the equivalent electronic shutters in DSLR. BTW, I am a Nikon F2A user (yes a classic 'pro' film camera) and Coolpix 5700. Last night play with D7000. Feel it's slightly better than D90. Worth the penny to update ? Your call.
My friend now have D300s, D90 and D7000 in his house. Gonna do a test by this week or next week to fully torture the sensor. p/s : I feel disappointed with D700 ISO performance under very low light. |

I still laugh at Ken Rockwell's joke..
ie "when Ken Rockwell shoot brackets, all 3 pictures win 1st price in different categories" Btw, d3100 also have the bracket function kah? Haven't check it out yet..no1 here at my town have it.. |

Is that the main function of CPL? Which one is the darkest? Commonly available ND filter is ND4 and ND8. The biggest I have is ND400 which cuts if 9 stop of light. |

That's why I love the phrase "making a picture" instead of "taking a picture".Making a picture takes the effort of thinking and creative process into producing the final picture. Fuuhhh.. After carrying my prime for half a day yesterday, suddenly the 18105 kit feels heavier. Having more than 1 lens made me to plan my shots, cos I'm a bit lazy having to change lenses. I upgraded from D40 to D90 last time, so I will not upgrade body anymore, already satisfied with D90 =D
Next will upgrade my flash (Di622 really sucks in TTL) and maybe a prime. And the rest goes to dry box, SD cards, filters and last but not least my working pc. Athlon 64 3000+ can't really cope with CS5 >.< |

AF-S 50mm f/1.2G rumours !
The Japanese site digicame-info.com reported a rumor few days ago that Nikon is currently working on new AF-S 50mm f/1.2G and 28mm f/1.4G lenses that will be released in the near future. I received similar tips at the beginning of the year about the 50mm f/1.2G lens and Nikon even filed a patent for it: http://nikonrumors.com/2010/11/17/rumors-f...evelopment.aspx This explain why there isn't any GOLD RING at 50mm f/1.4G |

QUOTE(freddy manson @ Nov 18 2010, 07:46 AM) pop up flash can only support sync speed up until 1/200.. ohh like that. becoz when i wanna play cls, my friend who use d90 also can go until 320. thats weird. i tot my d90 have a problemif u're using external flash then 1/4000 will be okay if the flash is powerful enough.. u guy know that light travels very fast right? but after 1/250 the light wont be sufficient to reach the subject, esp when ur subject is far (when using pop up flash) by getting an external flash, u can get power.. the flash will add more power to the flash/light that will make sure the light reaches the subject to catch up with the 1/4000 shutter.. but not all external flash can do it... in nikon, its know as FP, its automatically enabled in sb600, sb700 and sb900.. other model ie sb30, sb400 i havent check yet.. thatis the logical part of the answer.. for the more 'technologycal' part u have to wait for someone else expert to explain.. Added on November 18, 2010, 5:49 pm QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Nov 18 2010, 08:48 AM) Here is a good write up on flash sync speed to give some light on the subject matter. thanks for da article!http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/syncspeed.htm http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/syncspeed.htm#fp It's kinda funny to read about light having insufficient speed to reach the subject etc.. you need to know how the shutter works in the first place.. and the equivalent electronic shutters in DSLR. BTW, I am a Nikon F2A user (yes a classic 'pro' film camera) and Coolpix 5700. This post has been edited by ResQ: Nov 18 2010, 05:49 PM |

@elainor: sounds are normal. There are two kinds of sounds, one when the AF-S motor is working, and the VR sound when VR is active.
AF-S sound is like a high pitched whine when the lens focuses, or is hunting for focus. It is a sort of dry grinding sound. Its quite soft, though how soft... unless you already know how it sounds like, its kinda hard to explain. Some lenses are lounder than others. The huge lenses are quite loud, and the cheap non-ultrasonic AF-S ones (18-55, 18-105, 55-200) are loud too. The VR sounds like rapid clicking, sorta like if you go snorkelling and you hear rapid short clicking of the fish and crabs picking at the corals. To differentiate the sound, hold the lens near your ear, and half press the shutter. Initially you'll hear the grinding whine, and maybe half a second later will be the rapid clicking. Once focus is achieved, the grinding whine will stop. The clicking will be continuous until you release the shutter half press. Hope this helps. |

Sounds like the afs sound to me... Others with the 18-105 might be able to tell better. Sorry I don't have that lens to compare, but my AF-S lenses sound pretty much the same if you ask me... |

elainor, that sound is so sharp and that never happened to my 18-105... better send back to warranty.
And your signature for your lowyat is too long. read up the rules please. even just 2 images (speedtest + gearlist) is too long. u can choose 2 and align it side by side.... |

I think you probably should head back to the shop and ask them to help you out, either try on another 18-105 or ask for their feedback. I'm sure the shopkeepers are quite familiar with the sound.

ProTama, Keep, Sotong brand from China = Bad = Flare, Ghosts and maybe even not optically flat glass giving weird distortion and soft blobs.
B+W, Heliopan, Hoya Pro1D/HD = Good = No above problems. |

How much roughly would D7000 BG cost?? How long does it takes to be released to market after the body? How much was the MB-D10 cost when it first launched? |

Turn up ISO is one method but result in less quality. Best is to use the flash. Either bounce or direct with difuse. If you choose to lower the shutter speed, there is high chance some of the member in the photo may blurred due to movement. Unless you manage ask them to stand still. But usually, in group photo, there will be a lot of movement due to fun pose etc. Added on November 19, 2010, 11:56 am QUOTE(elainor @ Nov 18 2010, 10:12 PM) A video will tell a lot in my case... i just recorded it... is it normal?? before that i didnt heard any of this sharp noise... cant believe it happened after a few days... is it faulty?? QUOTE(mrl @ Nov 19 2010, 11:01 AM) agree... but i guess rather than spending too much on UV filters that does almost nothing besides protection, i guess I might go without filter instead and use the money for something else... QUOTE(ronaldlee007 @ Nov 19 2010, 11:48 AM) Yeah, in group photo F8 is good enough. Turn up ISO is one method but result in less quality. Best is to use the flash. Either bounce or direct with difuse. if i use flash gun..then my ISO shd set to 100? to avoid over expose? If you choose to lower the shutter speed, there is high chance some of the member in the photo may blurred due to movement. Unless you manage ask them to stand still. But usually, in group photo, there will be a lot of movement due to fun pose etc. Added on November 19, 2010, 11:56 am I think, it's best you sent to Nikon. It's not suppose to be that loud. |

I have D3100 body, and pretty much falling in love with it.
D3100 is a DX model with no focus motor build in the body itself. Currently I only have kit lens which is 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6G and I am thinking to buy a prime lens for my daily use. In fact I am confuse on what lens should I buy. either AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G or AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G I read on the reviews. Both are giving an amazing and stunning picture as the result. but I am curious on which one should I go for. Since AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G prince is 2.3X of AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G price, I need a strong justification on choosing AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif I will use the lens for portrait. and I heard from my friend that AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens will eventually become 52mm on my D3100 body, is it true?? Is there is any 3rd party recommended lens to substitute this two lenses? of course affordable as well. drool.gif any advantage or disadvantage on choosing one over the other lens?? Please help me on this decision making NIKON sifus. |

Can't do much, group portraits oso diff, too tight! Noob prime lens question here: I know the in-focus range is quite limited when the aperture is close to f/2. Usually how far you guys stand from subject with this kind of situation. I hope you can understand what I meant. It's like 50mm on DX sensor = 75mm, so sometimes, when framing too tight, step back a bit, but then usually when try to focus again, focusing not as sharp, because of shallow DOF, so temporary workaround = increase aperture, but sacrifice bokeh lar... Still experimenting to find a workaround. This post has been edited by geekster129: Nov 19 2010, 04:10 PM |

Hi, my friend is in dilemma whether go for a new Tamron 17-50 VC / 2nd unit.
He got an offer Tamron 17-50 VC with Hoya HD filter RM1650 (Age of item since Jan 2010 and warranty till Jan 2012) or New Tamron 17-50 VC RM1750 or RM1820 with Kenko UV filter. Your reply will deeply appreciated, thanks This post has been edited by Faint: Nov 19 2010, 06:01 PM |

lol BenSow, I am using 18-105 now but I miss my ex 18-55...
18-105mm MFD too long and heavy for me, 18-55 can shoot nearer and easier with one hand (sometimes I hold something with left hand and shoot with right hand one-handed)... But because the 18-105 has longer reach and look better so I didn't sell off and get a 18-55 VR. And why 18-55 not good? It's sharper than mine and easy to carry. |

QUOTE(ikan_semilang @ Nov 19 2010, 09:02 PM) Guys, i'm thinking to get prime for potrait... Since you said for portrait and using D90 (with motor), in your list above 50mm suits the job best and with the cheapest price...which u think suitable for using with DX body (D90)? Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8G Nikon AF-D 20mm f2.8 Nikon AF-D 50mm f1.8 But don't expect super good quality from the 50mm 1.8, it's a sub-RM400 glass. The bokeh is not creamy or round, sometimes if background is messy the bokeh is also messy... If budget allows you may try 50mm 1.4D or the better 1.4G. |

Hi guys, I am interested in getting the new D7000 and have been researching a lot about it... I found out that there are some issues with it. There is the hot pixel problem and also a few AF malfunction problem?
I tried one out today at my local camera shop. The camera does not AF even thou I had already turn on AF on the lens and the body. I even turn on the VR on the lens and still there is no AF confirmation beep from the camera. Why is it that? Does it happen often to those who have D7000? |

Ken Rockwell's digital files consist of 0's, 1's AND 2's. Ken Rockwell never focus, everything moves into his DoF Ken Rockwell's shots are so perfect, Adobe redesigned photoshop for him: all it consists of is a close button. QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Nov 20 2010, 01:40 AM) What does 1:1 stand for on Tammy SP90? Can get very2 close to the subject or there's still limitation? am not good in explaining. But as far as i know 1:1 is the ratio commonly for macro lens where the subject appears as life size on the sensor. Meanwhile 2:1 ratio means the subject appears twice of the size sensor. Correct me if i'm wrong |

Theoretically and technically we can say (like kiki-lala said) that 1:1 means the object captured as life size on the sensor. Practically the MFD (min focusing distance) is shorter than non-macro lenses and you can shoot real close but the macro lens won't hunt like your kit...
But there's still a limit how close you can go... same, correct me if i'm wrong lol |

My friend got one and when he tried to take pictures, the pictures come out blur. I have no idea what settings he is using and we are both new to DSLR and he is in Malaysia and I am in Australia. |

I think D7000 price depend on what 'free gift' u get which is not really free. Free item price already included in. If u low the price, so less item u get. So, just think once then decide, more survey more confuse u get. My suggestion for 1st time buyer is buy it with lot of accessories (filter, cleaning kit, lens perhap, etc). After sales service also important. So that can get discount later.

Most famous and new nikon lenses are all AF-S already (with motor in the lens). Like 24-70, 70-200, 16-35, and the DX 18-200, 16-85 etc...
Prime wise, 50mm 1.4G, 85mm 1.4G, 35 1.4G, 24 1.4G. If you plan to use lenses like 50mm 1.8D, 50mm 1.4D, 85mm 1.8D, 80-200mm F2.8D and other AF-D lenses then maybe D90 will suite your need... but of course AF-S lenses are more expensive la XD |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Nov 20 2010, 01:57 PM) I think the term is more more more expensive Getting D90 with motor will save you money on the lens because nikon AFD lens is cheaper than AFS lenses.Which makes D90 a perfect camera compared to the D3100 or lesser lolz. Somehow, i prefer D90 over D3100. Got more 2nd hand unit of AFD in 2nd hand market too. Some of the nikon lens don't even have AFS option. eg: 20mm, 135mm,180mm. Example of prime lens price difference AFD 35 F2 = 1.2k (FX) AFS 35 F1.8 = 800 (DX) <-- this one is worth it if you plan to stick to dx for long time. AFS 35 F1.4 = estimate around 5k AFD 50 F1.8 = 380 (super value lens, can play reverse ring macro too) AFD 50 1.4 = 1.2k (on a pro body this one focus seems to be faster) AFS 50 1.4 =1.8k AFD 85 F1.4 = 3.8k AFS 85 F1.4 = 4.5k AFD 20mm F2.8 = rm1.8k no AFS option But if you just plan to have a basic set and not to mess around with prime lenses. A D3100,D5000 is more than enough lor. |

QUOTE(BenSow @ Nov 20 2010, 03:01 PM) Manual makes you think before you shoot. You will be amazed on how much better picture you will take and much lesser picture you need to process afterward. If you're just new to digital photography, just get AF kitlens or 18-200 and enjoy first. No need to think too much. When moving to full manual lens, FF will be more useful due to the much larger viewfinder. This post has been edited by yushin: Nov 20 2010, 03:07 PM |

QUOTE(yushin @ Nov 20 2010, 03:06 PM) Manual makes you think before you shoot. You will be amazed on how much better picture you will take and much lesser picture you need to process afterward. Fast pace shooting need AF (eg: fashion show, sports, etc) AF-D lenses do communicate with Matrix Metering.. Unless u have static subject, MF is ok..If you're just new to digital photography, just get AF kitlens or 18-200 and enjoy first. No need to think too much. When moving to full manual lens, FF will be more useful due to the much larger viewfinder. |

It really depend on that you want to shoot.I'll bring manual lens out if I plan to go out walk around the park see got anything nice to shoot. If I go out shoot fashion show or event, bring 70-200 and aluminum stair. <-- I was like this, now no more... |

I don't see any reason why it should be called crap.17-50 might be better than 18-55 in terms of low light but it doesn't make 18-55 a crap. 18-70 is sharper than 18-55, still 18-55 is not a crap. please don't mislead the others. cik_tak, for a kit lens with that price I would rate it very good. I've used canon's 18-55mm and I feel nikon's 18-55 is better. And please don't go compare a 1.9k tamron 1750 with nikon 1855VR, it's not fair.
You pay what you get, I didn't say 18-55 is better than 18-70 or the expensive 16-85, but 18-55 is not something so bad that we would call it CRAP. Crap = USELESS, no value at all. I've captured lots of photos using the 18-55 NON VR before, and it's not crap either. |

Last I checked, all my nikkors for the past 20 years or so have been giving me the same colours across all types of film and digital bodies. And also... low light not good enough cos its what, 2/3 of a stop slower than the 18-70.Might want to ask nikon why they put VR on the 16-35 also. QUOTE(BenSow @ Nov 20 2010, 05:22 PM) hardest challenge in buying cameras.. choosing the right lens >< Its expensive because Tamron can get away with it. And Tamron can get away with it because its 1/2 the price of a Nikon 17-55. And Tamron can sell it for less than 1/2 the price because they cut corners. They cut corners like lower build quality (plastic internals and externals), cut some performance that usually people don't see like some vignetting, poor sides when fully open, T-stops that are 1EV lower than F-stops, skip the AF-S (no full time manual override), aluminium mount (vs. chromed brass on Nikon) and other stuff. What's so great about 17-50mm? why so expensive? Added on November 20, 2010, 5:24 pmand im not saying with the tone saying 17-50mm isnt good Bottom line you get what you pay for. And Tamron still sells well because everyone who wants to upgrade their lens looks for that magical holy grail of f/2.8. Which is, actually, not as magical as being there at the right place, at the right time with your camera, and having the right lighting conditions, either natural, a tripod, or a flashgun. I think the 18-55VR is a damn good bargain for its price. Sadly, nobody appreciates that. I'd keep that RM2k and go for a holiday instead. |

Damn weird Lol, why argue about kit lens lah Kit lens is a primary lens that helps you to learn DSLR, until after you know how to operate the DSLR already, then only go for pro lens and start making money with your photos. Pro lens can give you sharpness, dof or range you can't achieve with kit lens, but neither 1 lens, they still capture pictures for you. Capture of the moment is still the most important, no? VR on 18-55 is common, why not? Even pro lens like 16-35 f/4 has VR2, shorter than 18-55 what? Why don't argue on that? I don't see any problem with people buying 18-55. It's a very convenient lens for normal casual use. Cheap if buy second hand also. There's no crap lens in this world, lomo lens, jelly lens yada-yada. As long as the lens can focus the object and help you take photo, it's good. |

There is no use of comparing lens.. Just try to get the best from the gear that u currently have... Composition, capturing the moments and settings for the particular frame is more important, gears come second... This is wat i get from experience...

So far what I've been seeing in this forum is nothing else than just equipment talk.... very few talking about technique.. its like 80% equipment and less than 20% techniques and skills....
haihz~ why not instead of looking for a expensive lenses and just go with cheap lenses ~.~ not to say that I can't afford but I lost sense of people learning about how to improve themselves rather than gloating about gears ~.~ even Ansel Adams was using a piece of card to vision his pictures back in those ol' days and for me I find it that his pictures were very good very well composed even comparing to modern day technology This post has been edited by ComradeZ: Nov 20 2010, 05:52 PM |

Every lens have their own characteristics, and it's not about whether or not it's quality is good or not. |

A background is what makes or breaks a good photo. Timing wise, have to follow the heart before releasing the shutter...1/2 a second doubt, that's it.
Moments sometimes just come unexpectedly. You may just have a cameraphone with you, and the heck with it, just pull it out and snap. It's pretty amusing at how far we will go sometimes to get the very awesome pictures. This post has been edited by geekster129: Nov 20 2010, 09:30 PM |
