Simple exercise. Hold the heaviest weights you can in each hand and walk with it. Such a great exercise, total body workout. I've seen massive gains in a short period of time doing them.

the cons i could see:
need space to walkaround need really heavy dumbbells (gud luk finding dumbbells as heavy as your bodyweight) hard to measure for reps and sets hard to spot for form |

You can do this in gym.
I do this once in awhile holding 45lbs plates and walking around the whole gym. As for reps and sets, I think most effective measure would be according to time. e.g. 3x 1min or perhaps 3x 1 round |

QUOTE(xelrix @ Nov 18 2010, 11:27 AM) the cons i could see: The way I count reps and sets is to count the amount of times I go between point A and B. Then the next time try and improve this number.need space to walkaround need really heavy dumbbells (gud luk finding dumbbells as heavy as your bodyweight) hard to measure for reps and sets hard to spot for form QUOTE(ijnek @ Nov 18 2010, 11:36 AM) No, not recommended. The weights should be really heavy, so unless you're superman, running is out of the question anyway QUOTE(badutman @ Nov 18 2010, 11:42 AM) personally, i used dumbell as its train my hand grip too. btw cargocult, u mean massive gain in term of strength or muskel? Gains in strength mainly, but I've noticed my forearms, traps and calves get a really good workout with this and at least to me, seem to be bigger. I use dumbbells as well, my grip is much stronger than it used to be.Added on November 18, 2010, 3:13 pmalso, since this exercise is quite taxing, should only be done 1-2 times a week. pref at the end of your workout This post has been edited by CargoCult: Nov 18 2010, 03:13 PM |

If you don't have enough weight to use, wrap the handles of the DBs with a towel and grip it. Hoo boy that'll kill your forearms.
Try the same concept, but while doing pullups as well. |
