I hope they don't steal 1.8M, Target 2.0 better LOL!
BTW, my dad should be receiving his sonata today, so I guess the customs issue should be ok by now.

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Dec 3 2010, 02:37 PM) Jebat concept..i dont like the rear..its too extreme for my taste.. I agree, the back is too extreme for my taste. The front is nice, but needs a matching back. Don't think can put just the front bumper eh? Probably too wide without other follow up mods.Added on December 3, 2010, 2:38 pm there are no fog lamps..those are daylight running LEDs I for one hate LED's in cars. For now, all the implementations I've seen are extremely ugly. Take for example the new BMW 5 series, it's night back lights are a very beautiful softglow, but the moment the driver hits the brakes, super ugly square LED's light up. Terrible. Totally not matching with the regular night red lights. Even the number plate is lit up by a few "white" LED's which is super ugly, because they are not really white (White LED's don't exist, just very light blue) and they are scattered points on the number plate, so it looks like some cheap china addon. Merc's implementation of daytime running lights are ugly too. Audi is the only company doing a semi-decent job. Even thenm not all the daytime lights in all the models are nice. That's me anyway ( = I'd much prefer lights like the 5 series back night lights, and the prototype persona R style. Basically, diffused glows instead of harsh points. Still waiting for confirmation whether I can collect my car today or not haha. |

The Jebat hood not aligned properly
Still no call so I guess no car. In other news, my dad's Sonata is here. Looks really beautiful. Don't like that fact that the front chrome grill is plastic, but well, nowadays almost everything is plastic. Low and sleek. Nice! |

QUOTE(cybersonic23 @ Dec 3 2010, 05:26 PM) Careful ooo.. 1 to 2 weeks, then delay a little bit, suddenly cross over to January, you don't get free service for the 40k km already. The original terms were for cars booked between 14th oct-15nov, and delivered before January. |

QUOTE(Sarguna @ Dec 3 2010, 07:50 PM) It's 2 years or 40k Km (edit: 50k KM is the right number). Whichever comes first. And, I definitely remember the condition "collect car before end of December" although I can't find it in The Star website. I remember clearly reading it in one of the launch day articles. This free service is to encourage people to book even though the year is ending. Hence those who get the car in 2011, are not qualified for the free service. At least, that's what I remember. Looking for source now ( =Found Source: QUOTE Available in red, white, black or silver, the new Proton Inspira is now open for booking at any Proton dealer with a deposit of RM1,000. As an appreciation to early birds, Proton will be offering a 2 year (50,000km) free service package worth RM1,658 including parts and labor to those who take delivery of their brand new Proton Inspira for bookings made by the 15th of November 2010 that are delivered before the 31st of December 2010. http://paultan.org/2010/10/14/proton-inspi...n-for-bookings/I suppose PaulTan isn't official news, so... may not be true ( = This post has been edited by RahXeph0n: Dec 4 2010, 01:07 AM |

QUOTE(alen_wong38 @ Dec 4 2010, 01:08 AM) Lol.. dude... you are missing the point entirely. Anyway, you're right, 50k, BUT the main point is, you need to get your car before the end of DECEMBER 2010, otherwise you don't qualify. That's what Paul reported. |

I searched all articles in The Star (which isnt a much better reference LOL), doesnt mention the "before December" clause. And the scanned brochure attached also doesn't so maybe Paul Tan is wrong. Anyway, I suppose you guys can easily clarify. I haven't actually dealt with any SA yet so I don't know, letting my cousin handle everything haha.
Edit: After reading the scanned doc from Taipan a few times, I seem to gather this: Initially cars that are registered during the promotional period (Before december) get the free 2 years, but the NEW memo says that anyone who made a BOOKING before 15th Nov, qualifies for the free service, so... no longer need to register/collect before December. Am I right? A bit sleepy now haha. This post has been edited by RahXeph0n: Dec 4 2010, 02:31 AM |

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Dec 6 2010, 11:29 PM) Guys.. Wow, I'd like my manual to have those specs >.<Got some info from a friend of mine who works with Proton (R&D Department).. Apparently there will be new variants to the inspira in the near Future, theres no name for it yet but he said they all just call them Inspira SE. Its a new 1.8 variant. Available in 2 colours, Red with Black Top (similar with Saga BLM SE/Gen2 SE) and White with Blacktop. These new 1.8 (Not sure Manual/Auto or Both) will have all the luxury features of the 2.0 and price slightly higher. (Leather Seats, Bodykits, daylight running LEDs!) This is sort of like the honda variant like the Accord 2.0 VTiL, Low spec accord with high spec accesories. Stay tune for more news.. |

Got my car delivered last friday (1.8M black), but I was in Port Dickson. Thought i'd had to wait till today finally drive it, but my dad was free, so he took it for a spin... all the way to PD from KL and swapped cars with me LOL! Overall, The drive is really nice, I didn't really bother with the breaking in process, since my dad already drove it 150km in an unknown manner. Still I didn't really floor it, just barely testing the speed limit Loving the response, loving the super light clutch, sorta confused about the gear knob, it's not very intuitive, but I think I'll get used to it. Sometimes, I'm not even sure what gear I'm in haha. The clutch bite point is also a little vague, another thing I have yet to get used to I suppose. The ICE system is good enough for me. Someone asked if it would work with Symbian BT pairing, I can confirm it works very well. I don't know if it's normal, but the unit will display caller ID, and you can even change tracks from your music player in your phone/mp3 player) via the BT connection. The sound sounds bad with VAPS turned off, sounds good/normal with VAPS turned on for all passengers, and (to me) sounds great when turned on for driver only. The rims are not that bad in real life (as I mentioned earlier) Complains I have noted and my views about them: Road noise: It's there, but most of the time the noise I'm hearing is my aircon blower. Like I said, I didn't take it much further than the speed limit, so can't comment for higher speeds. Engine noise: The engine is very quiet (typical of new cars). I almost can't tell the difference when my engine died twice (getting used to the clutch haha) Need-to-slam doors: Personally, I think the doors are great. The only exception being when you're seated in the car and want to close the driver's door; the position of the handle invites a gentle tug, but sometimes that's not good enough. Honestly though, I really don't see any reason to complain. There is a difference in strength required, I'll give you that, but no need to slam the door. Dashboard and interior fitting: I think this is pretty poor, and classic proton (or even worse) standard. The glove box comes down in a nice graceful drop, but closes with a terrible clack. The misalignments and unevenness along the dasboard is evident. I'm not really bothered that the grey "carbon fibre" trim is not aligned with the doors. But the seams within the dashboard itself, like when the center console meets the dash, or the seams for the airbag, the seams for the meters, they are uneven in my car. Not by a lot, but it's there and worth mentioning. The WORST evidence of bad fitting (I don't know if this exists in the Lancer) is where the roof meets the A pillar. Exactly at that point, if you were to push the roof lining upwards, a gap will appear between the A pillar plastic wrap, and the roof lining. It's as though the roof lining along the door frame has extra "air space" inside, of about 5 -10mm. Quite strange. On one hand, it's nice because you won't hurt if you accidentally bump your head on the door frame, but it's still weird. A hole will literally form at the seam if you push the roof lining up. I don't know again if this is in the Lancer, but if you look at the speedometer cluster from the side, you can see that the round moldings don't meet the back of the dials, which is a small thing from the driver's perspective, but still odd haha. I really like the fact that the driver's floor mat has hook points, to prevent the mat from sliding forward. I jakun, never see this before LOL. Car cushions: I have absolutely no complaints about the cushions. My friends sitting at the back and the front for the jounney back said they weren't too soft or hard, "very comfortable" said a guy who drives multiple cars as his dad rents out cars Climate control dials: As expected, not too great. The clicking feel would not pass an audi inspector for sure. Not very aesthetically pleasing too. I hope for you 2.0p owners that you get better dials ( = Boot space: I really hate the fact that they raise it with BLOODY POLYSTYRENE to compensate for the extra wheel. I think any rational Inspira owner would try and lower the boot floor and change the spare to an emergency one. If anyone has any contacts or sources for this, I'd like to know ( = Can't think of anything else right now. Hope you enjoy reading this wall of text haha |

I should emphasize, although I seem to be complaining much, I'm just addressing the loud issues regarding the car. I really really like the drive. That's the whole reason why I booked the MT, and for that, I'm totally completely satisfied ( =
