Semi-Final Tickets For M'sia-s'pore Football Match On Sale From Monday


PETALING JAYA, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- Tickets for the Asean Football Federation (AFF) championship first-leg semi-final match between Malaysia and Singapore will go on sale on Monday.

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary general, Datuk Seri Dr Ibrahim Saad said tickets for the 8pm match, to be played at the Shah Alam Stadium on Jan 23, are priced at RM10.

"Fans can buy tickets at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya or at the Shah Alam Stadium, from 11am onwards," he told reporters here Friday.

He urged the Malaysian public to come in full force to support the national team.

"The presence of local fans will be a significant boost to the national team in their quest to beat Singapore who are the defending champion," he said.

The second-leg of the semi-final will be held at the Singapore National Stadium on Jan 27.

Dr Ibrahim said that Singapore's request for a large number of tickets showed that there would be big turnout from Singpore fans.

"We have priced the tickets at a very affordable price to encourage more fans to watch the match," he said.

Malaysia who played the qualifying round in Bangkok advanced to the semi-final together with Thailand while Singapore and Vietnam booked their berths from the qualifying round held in Singapore.

Vietnam and Thailand will clash in the other semi-final.
