*sigh* Malaysian...yes I say Malaysian please support the National team, they need our support.

Even if the FAM's official is changed and new foreigner coach hired. The football scene in our country will never change, we need to support the countries league and dont just blame them.Do you guys know how much money the club's in malaysian league had spend.

But still the demanding Malaysian still sit back at home and watching the EPL rather than go to any stadium and support the club's in Malaysia.Seeing this, the player have no spirit to play lol.

If i have the chance to talk to all the football player in this country, I would tell them to shoot, pass, cross and whatever type of ball kicking technique everyday so that they can improve their quality in ball passing and shooting.

So please stop giving them too much negative comments and let start supporting any club's in the new season of SUPER LEAGUE.

Seriously how many more disgraceful and shameful performances we as fans have to endure? We were challenging South Korea back in the day when they had Cha Bum Kuen and Kim Jae Han. We had in our ranks, R Aramugum, Jamal Nasir, Santokh Singh, Isa Bakar, Mokhtar Dahari Soh Chin Aun, Reduan Abdullah, Wong Choon Wah. In goal we had 2 great keepers in Arumugam and Rashid Maidin. See, I can still rattle off names of past greats and I can hardly remember any today as they have failed to leave any impression upon me. Where is South Korea today? Where are we?

Now, take Myanmar for that case, Sea Games we whipped them 9-0, James Wong and Hassan Sani scored and played brilliantly. Today (its been more than 10 years now) we have been beaten by Cambodia, Laos and Philippines. Phils powered by the Househusband brothers will soon be a force in this region, where are we?

We have supported our country and we have been let down time and again. Now, why should we continue to support? Just because its our country playing? Hey, when the players do not feel proud donning the national colours then they are not worth supporting. Look at the way they played... Pathetic is an understatement. Each played a game "hoping" not to make mistakes... all for the fear of being "drubbed" coz they know they are beaten before taking the field.. they just do not want to be humiliated! Is this how Malaysia should play their game?

Take heart that Malaysians can play and take on the world.. Squash and Bowling can attest to that. Saving grace is our hockey is still the best in the region.

I have given up on our Malaysian Football, promises so much, never deliver. Nowadays I no longer bother to remember the names of our footballers, aint nothing like days of old, where we are proud of R. Aramugam, Santokh Singh, Soh Chin Aun, Reduan Abdullah, Wong Choon Wah, Isa Bakar, Shukur Salleh, Mokhtar Dahari, James Wong, Hassan Sani..... we were on PAR with South Korea, we beat them to qualify for 1980 Olympics.... Look where we are today? and where they are now.....

Football in Malaysia = Money (lots of it)

Hence the politicians would want positions in this game. The rest is history.

Added on April 19, 2007, 5:04 pmSo take away the politics from sports and let the sport be a sport again, we may have some hope in 10 years time. When there is money well spent, the footballers will not be pampered and get big headed.

FAM is getting s lousy la the coach oso damn s*x

Problem is not the coach is lousy.

Fact. Josef Venglos was a World Cup Coach. He failed in Malaysia. Claude Le Roy too is a World Cup Coach. He failed too in Malaysia. Karl Weigang has taken Malaysia to Olympics 1980. He failed miserably in subsequent stints in Malaysia.

Why?

We have bungling and interfering officials who knows nuts about the game.

We have players who thinks too highly of themselves when all they can play is at a padang near us.

Truth

We have officials who only think of making money and not for the development of the game.
We do not have players with mental strength to grow into potential quality players.
The coach can only do this much, without proper materials (players) and with nosey officials, only one result... TOTAL FAILURE.

I totaly agree with that bold statement there... We have bunch of losers who think they are the greatest player...

Technically I would say that they do not have the mentality. These can be due to 2 things:

1. They are plucked from the village hence with very little of everything and suddenly they see fame. They get big headed and no one to guide or control them.
2. They are really hopeless.

If we are to subscribe to matter 1 above, we actually have a lot of successful examples which we can learn from. Lets take one big example, the one that does not need to go to England for intensive training to be a world champion: Nicole David. Excelled in education, excelled in sports. We may argue that it is a lesser sport, this squash game, but nevertheless what are the ingredients:

1. Brains
2. Understanding of the sport itself - need brains too
3. Parents involvement. This would help keep the child/teenager foot firmly on the ground and not being lifted up. This needs brains too to understand the importance of keeping one's feet on the ground.
4. Character/ Attitude - focus and willing to work hard.

So after saying so much, only 2 things brains and attitude. Which sadly ALL our current footballers have NONE. So in other words, you put it damn right in 1 line what I tried to put in 5 entire paragraphs... kekekekeke...
