![]() Back row, first from right ![]() Back row, second from right ![]() Former Malaysian striker Isa Bakar (left) in action during a World Cup qualifying match against Thailand at the Singapore National Stadium in 1978. ![]() second from left Added on September 1, 2010, 11:52 am Titus eyes place in national team TITUS James Palani (pic), who plays for French Division Three side Nanteuil FC, hopes to earn a spot in the national team soon. "My dream is to play for Malaysia. I hope I will be given an opportunity to be part of the national team one day. I will make myself available if given a chance," said Titus, who is back on holiday, yesterday. Titus was first called up for trials in 2005 by former national coach Bertalan Bicskei for the Manila Sea Games but he did not make the final squad. In 2008, the 24-year-old was again selected by then coach B. Sathianathan to represent the country against Premier League side Chelsea but could not attend trials as he was awaiting his permanent resident (PR) card from the French government. Titus has been in Kuala Lumpur for almost a month and will return to France on Friday to continue training with Nanteuil for the coming Division Three season. "My dream is to earn a contract with a top club in Ligue 1. Four years ago, I almost did it with Paris Saint-Germain but the club changed management and my dream was dashed. "My hope is that I get identified by an agent from a top club when the league starts soon," said Titus, whose brother Kogi, is the captain of the Kuala Lumpur Under-12 team. Asked whether he was interested in playing in the M-League, Titus said he prefers the French league. "I would love to come back and play for a state side in Malaysia but for now, my focus is on making it big in France," said Titus, who helped his Paris-based club to lift the French Division Three FA Cup in the 2007-08 season. QUOTE(aressandro10 @ Nov 8 2010, 08:33 PM) manage to seal the deal in the warm-up-ish match... though the rather hopeful 4-0 scoreline never materalized... during the 70's maybe next match is the real deal.. japan is whipping the host 3-0 now... makin gthem like schoolboys.. i wonder when is the last time we had a win in Asian Games though .... |
