I have taken the initiative to start listing down Malaysian players who are playing FFXIV, and which server they will be heading to:

Well, if you ask me, Yes.
I am working as well, and sometimes finish work late.
I play mostly at night, and weekends.
If it makes you feel better, most of the players I know are working as well, from different timezones of course.

The good thing about this game is; you dont have to be a hardcore to be good.
You just need to have a common sense or I would say, skill and teamwork.

I, myself only mastered the Discipline of Magic, which is just 2/7 classes. And getting to r50/50 is not hard. Maybe 2 weeks will do. And good set of gears can be obtained from quest. Of course better ones are for hardcores, but it doesnt matter much, only minor differences.
