QUOTE(silic0sis @ Nov 15 2010, 10:02 PM) Normally that would be the case, but Forte is cheap because it was "rebadged" by Naza. Similar situation to when Naza rebadged the Kia Carnival to Naza Ria. If Kia sold the Forte, it would probably be around 120k. I don't think Naza Forte is cheaper because it's being CKD-ed by Naza because Toyota Altis and Honda Civic are also CKD. KIA Carnival and Naza Ria was a different case. It's CBU vs CKD. The same thing happened to Peugeot 206 and Naza Bestari. If you read reviews or comparisons of C segment cars from other countries, you would see that the Forte fairs very well vs lancer, civic, altis, mazda3. |

QUOTE(acbc @ Nov 15 2010, 10:23 PM) The Naza Ria is not the same as the original 2002 CBU 2nd gen Carnival. Only exterior and interior are the same but engine and gearbox are sourced from 1st gen Carnival which is prone to gasket failure. Many people have swapped out the entire engine and gearbox for the 2nd gen. I'm not talking about the built quality or parts reliability. It is about the price, why Naza Forte is cheaper than the rest of the C-segment cars (excluding local marques). I know about the so-called 'semi-CBU' of Naza Forte but again that's not my point. It is declared as CKD and people pay for it at CKD price. However, Toyota Altis and Honda Civic are also CKD but more expensive. Naza Forte being CKD-ed is certainly NOT the reason why it's cheaper.BTW, Forte sold here is not really CKD. It is 100% CBU but declared as CKD (Naza took out the wheel and doors prior to delivery from Korea). Good news it, Naza pass on the savings to potential buyers. That is what I'm trying to say. QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Nov 17 2010, 09:41 PM) yes lol.since so many ppl butthurt over forte (korean) and inspira (proton rebadge) they can really team up and go againts those jap fanbois lol And they still can't win against CM98 alone. But then CM98 has shown some interests in Forte. Forte will get a formidable supporter if CM98 decided to switch camp. So beware all of you Korean-bashers!**@CM98, Please take it as compliment. I admit sometimes I got bored reading your arguments (because you're always emphasize on resale value) but I can't deny the truth in it. However, if you're offended with this post, please let me know. I'll remove it. |

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Dec 29 2010, 02:40 PM) All i see is a bunch of factless bashers. Not that I doubt the safety of Forte, but would you please give me the link, because I can't find it on EuroNCAP website.Does ur car comes with 5 star euro ncap to bash us? Mostly are non inspira/lancer and non forte owners bashing korean cars senselessly So unless u cant prove that the forte is tin milo, plz do provides ur sources, pictures, links, facts if not dont just senselessly comment. We have already given these pictures, we have euro safety ncap already given the car a 5 star. Having ESC alone already proven to avoid accidents by as high 41% according to reseach. Check out the youtube i gave earlier. Now these are already outstanding features on a sub 100k car. |

QUOTE(XionCity @ Dec 29 2010, 05:58 PM) go see these videos : Like I'd said, I have no doubt about the safety of Forte. I just can't find its rating on EuroNCAP, that's all. And please don't say all NCAP are all the same.http://www.google.com.my/search?q=forte+nc...ved=0CCQQqwQwAA http://crashtestvideos.magnify.net/video/2...erato-NCAP-Side http://www.blingcheese.com/video-120/kia+forte.htm |

QUOTE(XionCity @ Jan 3 2011, 01:12 AM) there will be no prediction on resale value....only will know when the time comes.... Nope. CVT, in general, could and should provide better acceleration than conventional automatic gearbox. But because CVT gives a smooth acceleration rather than sudden burst of power as in CAGB, most people said, or rather felt, it lacks of power. It's not. A CVT will, generally, out-accelerate CAGB.another thing is, that proton is probably year 2004 or above....that's y so high... spectra might be in year 2002...same goes with aveo depend on wat year, and dun follow the price sold by people or 2nd hand shop. if u really wanna know abt resale value, try ask them, how much would they take in for those models(buy directly from buyer's price) not selling price....coz, they can put wateva price they wan.... and also, judge on the quality of the car, whether it needed alot of maintenance or repairs, or juz buy and use without much maintenance or repairs there are alot of things to look into, for resale value....u can't expect a VIOS 05 sells at RM5xk if needed repair alot, right?? the value of the car will drop too(become price like no resale value).... paint job, anti-rust, check for accident free cars, also does concern in resale value....if that car like VIOS 05 got accident 1 or 2 times, the resale value will drop too.... so, in my last words, u can't judge resale value price base on wat u see in 2nd hand car shop....there are ALOT of things 2 consider b4 selling price came out..... Added on January 3, 2011, 1:19 am Inspira got 4 spd only.....yet, Forte this year ald got 6 speed... advantages of conventional autogearbox, u can feel the acceleration power of it, while disadvantage of it is, u feels jerkiness when changing gears(not more modern CAGB anymore) advantages of CVT autogearbox, u can feel smooth acceleration of the gears without feeling any jerks while changing gears, while disadvantage of it is, not as powerful as CAGB... advantages of DCG autogearbox, uses in Fiesta, VW and audi, u can feel the advantages of both CAGB and CVTAGB, disadvantage of it is maintenance and cost, way HIGHER than CVTAGB and CAGB.... Now modern cars with 1.6 above ald had sports mode(a.k.a. tiptronic, shiftronic, sport mode) juz only Fiesta dun hv....that's 1 of the disadvantages of Fiesta.... And it provides better fuel economy too. |

QUOTE(XionCity @ Jan 6 2011, 01:24 AM) GET REAL!! Errr just because it's designed by Italdesign-Giugiaro, doesn't mean it will be manufactured in Italy.the problem is i had 2 ask u....the same question...how old r u?? do u think EMAS manufactured from Malaysia??? do u think it uses Local items?? If got, also won't use cheaplak things la.... think of it, any1 will interested in EMAS if uses cheaplak things like current protons?? it's in Italy, and do u think they will accept that?? they will juz say, another chepalang car...but y italian loves it?? y EMAS so many ppl love it? i dun think is bcoz of pure design and technology. oh come on la....that's a concept car, so muz at least hv very good export quality things la..... u try 2 look at local Wira and exported Wira.....are the quality the same?? if u say same, i would say u're an idiot!! my fren's grandpa owned an exported version Wira, 1.6 version 1...until now, that car got no quality issue, not even rusted roof!! i m not mean of judging by the look.....but plz, common sense la....who wans using cheaplak items 2 export?? judge by petrol, Petronas sells RON99, RON 1xx to other countries, u knw?? very good quality, but in Malaysia, they oni use RON92,95 and 97 only.... that's y Forte new facelift can't use the new GDI engine....y? bcoz of our petrol quality, even with current petrol quality, for current Forte also hv problems... same goes 2 Hyundai's new Avante, also can't use the new GDI engine |
