If it is me, I would return the LCD. They shouldn't break the seal unless necessary. I suspect this unit may be a display unit and they're trying their luck to sell them away to unsuspecting customers.

QUOTE(azbro @ Nov 25 2010, 11:44 AM)
Scenario:

I wanna open small neighborhood electrical shop, but I got no HDTV to demo...only the box and catalog...the dealer will never gimme demo sets and people will not buy an open set...cannot tahan open 10 HDTV to put on the wall and later sell at demo pricess...ppl will not buy it also knowing its a demo set....so what to do?...not only the HDTV, but HT, fridges, washing machines, fans, aircons etc also have to open the box to show something at the shop...so...err..sell the demo as newlah...  biggrin.gif

That is why you need goot start-up capital before starting an electrical shop. Imagine you purchasing a demo unit at a regular price, will you be happy? Currently you're putting yourself at the shop's owner shoe. Try putting yourself in the customer's shoe.
