I saw a comment on a blog somewhere (local), that poor guy has been waiting for 1 month for this N8 to be repaired

Hope that it will not come to that

QUOTE(gtoforce @ Nov 18 2010, 11:03 PM)
restart, yes

sometimes im out most of the time and when i got home it already died
or usually i charge when its less than 10% life (1 bar)
*
from my experience (being bought 2 units of N8 on launching day)...

mine a lot of restarts. the other unit (sister's) almost no restarts.

hence i believe that restarts could be the precursor for dying...

Quote from @niklasatnokia "We have traced down this issue to the way we assembled the engines"

So is it a motherboard component assembly problem?

Very diplomatically written letter that promises and commits to nothing. Looks like Nokia is getting better and better at this game. Why not a recall to fix potential problems? Why do we need to wait until the phone dies on us before action is taken?

Mind you, the complaints are not only on dead phones. There are other issues like banding issues on the screen display, reboots/restarts that happens out of nowhere and most importantly the notorious tidak apa attitude of the NCC staffs.

All in all this is not going to work out good for Nokia in terms of mouth to mouth PR.

** EDIT **
Anyone here knows how to start an online petition that we can send to Nokia's CEO in Finland? I think it's high time we do something to prevent being squashed like a bug everytime.
*
Please give Nokia a reasonable timeframe to resolve this issue now that their EVP has publicly acknowledged it.

After all, as for me 18 years being a Nokia user what's more a couple of weeks of waiting.

Nevertheless I will continue to bug the NCC for updates.

Did u restart your phone? Lag can be cause by alot of things. Once i take too much photos and video it lag but didnt hang.
*
Some apps do not even release the memory occupied when it is closed.

It is a good practice is to restart the phone from time to time. especially after playing games.

Yeah , it hangs for a short while after installation.
*
at least on the N8 the 'hang' is very brief as compared to S60v3 or v5 phones.

perhaps the OS is doing housekeeping routines for new app..

shouldn't have lag.. 2nd batch hv new fw, new hw, no hang, no problems, n maybe can hv upgrade to meego too icon_rolleyes.gif
*
meego on a 680 Hz processor and 250+ RAM is stretching the hardware a bit.

remember meego is based on Linux kernel hence requires swap space and the works.

The UI should not have problems with the graphics processor on the N8 but the RAM will not suffice for efficient performance.

I love the webDAV functionality of the N8!

anyone tried it yet?

cloud-based storage... possibilities are endless!
