Man, I've been waiting for the Legendary Edition of Blood Bowl to drop to that price point since the Black Friday sales (Lowest I saw was USD 15, which was a bit steep compared to all the other stuff I was getting)
Should I now get into bed with Impulse or wait? |

Meh, Impulse isnt bad really, it's pretty unobtrusive and works pretty well.
Just that they do not have promotion I like very often so I own only few stuff in there (Sins, GalCiv2 and Sword of the Stars collections mainly) That Blood Bowl deal is interesting though, the game dropped in price pretty quickly O_o |

QUOTE(Gormaz @ Feb 4 2011, 01:14 AM) Meh, Impulse isnt bad really, it's pretty unobtrusive and works pretty well. Haha, I pretty much sealed the deal within minutes of making that post.. I think I just felt the need to try out Impulse as I haven't been giving Stardock the fair end of the stick for the last few years.Just that they do not have promotion I like very often so I own only few stuff in there (Sins, GalCiv2 and Sword of the Stars collections mainly) That Blood Bowl deal is interesting though, the game dropped in price pretty quickly O_o So, yeah... True to its name, I am now an Impulse user PS. My impression of Stardock actually dropped within minutes of running Impulse as I suddenly had some random popup from the taskbar for some deer hunter game promotion... Tried looking in the options to disable such crap and there was none... Too bad Impulse, you could've been a permanent addition to my system tray, but now you're just a glorified downloader app... All because you tried to hawk some redneck game to me. |

Started an Impulse account and bought Bloodbowl too. Hope this is a step in the right direction from the Dark Elves Edition I own on Steam. Enjoyed that but the game was not without some nasty flaws.

QUOTE(kianweic @ Feb 4 2011, 09:54 AM) Complete Pack is only 70% off, with the final price of $11.99.EDIT: To those interested to get this game, make sure you get The Saxons DLC pack, which consists of 3 DLCs (Knights and Vassals, Legendary Artifacts & The Saxons) instead of the individual DLC. Refer to the chart below to see why. King Arthur: Knights and Vassals DLC | -85% | $1.99 King Arthur: Legendary Artifacts DLC | -85% | $1.99 King Arthur: Knights and Vassals DLC + King Arthur: Legendary Artifacts DLC + King Arthur: The Saxons DLC | -85% | $1.49 This post has been edited by talexeh: Feb 4 2011, 10:33 AM |

Bought the Saxons pack, I already had the original game and it's dirt cheap.
Seems it adds another campaign, will try it out The original game had some flaws but it was alright even though super hard This post has been edited by Gormaz: Feb 4 2011, 11:45 AM |

QUOTE(Gormaz @ Feb 4 2011, 10:06 AM) You can disable ImpulseNow from launching at start really, it will stop popups Hmmm thanks for the tip.The tool does not really provide any benefit except from these popups anyway, I also use it only as a downloader app More horror from Impulse: Ok, so after buying Blood Bowl, I proceed to try to download the game to computer. From the product page, it listed that the download size was only 2.5 gigs... No biggie... I'm guessing it's just the installer and I may need double that for installation. So, I went about clearing some stuff in my very cluttered C drive. Ok, 9 gigs should be plenty of space. Click download, says its only 5.8 gigs after install. Splendid! More than enough. Not really it seems. As I tried to download it, it gives me an error... "Insufficient space to download, extract and install game files. Requires 13.35 GB" . . . I always thought that I was spoiled by Steam with its instant installation downloads. Coming from that, Gamersgate was a little annoying as you had to install after downloading. But this takes the cake for retarded download service. Requiring more than double the installation space JUST so it can have room to extract the download? Couldn't it just DELETE the download AFTER extracting so as to not enforce this ridiculous requirement? It wouldn't even let me download it first... I MUST have that amount free before it would even continue. Thus, cleared quite a bit of my Steam games that I don't play (Or won't be playing any time soon) and got it running... Now I'm hoping once it's done, it won't give me something else to worry about. The score: Impulse: 0 Everybody else: 2 |
