I do not know how to resize picture. guide me please biggrin.gif

Best resizing is by photoshop but most likely you don't have or don't know how to use..so pic resize
Better still just upload large picture for full glory and spoiler it.. icon_idea.gif

Obviously it is possible to get a higher spec rig for the same price you pay for that Alienware..
IMHO Alienware a lot of eye candy only..like that casing top there can close and open when temperature is hot
Maybe you can keep the casing and gut out all the parts and replace it with off the shelf parts when you feel that your Alienware is lousy already.. brows.gif

Glass table from IKEA,
Tempered frosted glass Rm299 each pieces.
The legs are Rm45 each.

The leg isn't movable cause of the 32kg weight of the glass, and there is sticky plastic something kind of dots , each of the side has 1, to prevent the glass from moving.
It's solid.

LOL..not danny choo again..he got very sporting wife to allow him to have this kind of hobby even though married already laugh.gif
No doubt that table is sturdy as a rock..that table leg is very stable compared to normal table leg
I also got idea of having a glass table but I'd custom made a bracket that I can drill to the wall and mount the glass to it..
And the bracket I also can make..very simple only..so I get a floating glass kind of effect..the only problem is I don't have a place of my own to do that sweat.gif
But I still like the frosted glass that you use..much better than the clear glass that you can get from normal shops
Is the glass mounted to the leg frame by screws..as in there is a hole in the glass to slot in or is it just a suction kind of thing?

my torrent rig is at the bottom, not showed in this picta.  blush.gif
*
Then you use the same monitor for the torrent rig?..I suppose there is no KVM switch there and KVM switch is expensive and outdated
Why don't just do a remote connection to your torrent rig from your desktop on the desk?

there no KVM switches involved here. wink.gif

I plug my monitor DVI to my rig and VGA to my torrent rig. So I just let the torrent one download whatsoever stuff and main screen is on my main rig. I switch it using the monitors Analog and Digital Input function. wave.gif
*
Interesting..that means that you can still access the torrent rig even though the main rig is off
I always wanted to do this kind of setup because I don't like to switch on a powerful gaming rig 24/7..
The problem with the remote connection method is that if the main rig is off I cannot see it on the monitor..
Interesting setup..will give it a try hmm.gif

I'm guessing that you get very low temperature reading off your casing as well as your processor with that kind of heatsink..
Overclock your casing as well.. laugh.gif

Nice casing bro..but definitely can do a lot better with those cable management holes
I did a rig for my friend and most of the extra wires I just cram it behind the casing.. icon_idea.gif

That black 600T is not mine..it is my friend's rig that I help assemble sweat.gif
I only got lousy Acer.. sad.gif
But well worth the money really for the 600T especially the white ones..got clear side panel or mesh side with extra holes for fan
The white 600T really looks a lot better than the 650D..

Ikea is no where near high end brand overseas..it is considered just normal furniture..just that here in Malaysia it is made into a high class furniture because of price
Even the concept of Ikea is that their furniture are designed to be portable and easy DIY..they do not market their products for super durability

How much does it cost for each of the SATA expansion card and how many drives are supported per card?

The mobo I am using is a server board that uses PCI-X raid card. There are PCI-E version. Raid cards start at around RM400-1k+. Mine support 8 drives per card.
*
As expected it would be quite pricey but considering that you're using a RAID with parity, the cards might do a better job at calculating the parity rather than depending on the processor itself. Nice rig and file server you have there.

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Sep 12 2011, 12:59 PM)
Try to google for fileserver build in either engadget or anandtech (cant rmb which RSS i read it from), it's more towards home user build than server eccentric user. Not much people know how configure and maintain them.

I have a workstation desktop, dell precision or something.. brought from office. Gonna dump it edi.. Kinda slow and difficult to upgrade due to the registered ECC RAM

I still don't get what's the differences between a workstation and a home desktop
*
The difference is not huge if you're with the lower end workstation but if you're spending for the higher end workstation which depends on your work requirements then the workstation will be quite different than a home desktop. Usually workstations would not be overclocked or not allowed to be overclocked so it uses more expensive parts like Xeon or dual Xeons for more performance. ECC RAM is also one of those server specific kind of parts but not too important to the regular user. Also you would more likely to find rendering type GPU like the Quadro/Firepro with workstations and gaming type GPU with home desktops.
