Decided to post up a photo record of my workstation that has been the victim of my ghetto mods and geekiness for almost 10 years:

Yes, the entire IKEA dining table has been turned into a cable-management frame and leaves most of it in plain view. Geekiness +25
Look, Ma! No cables on the ground! (Well, almost)

CPU tower is on a wheeled IKEA storage unit.

Stores all my tools and spares inside and easily wheeled into position for any work done on it.

Mouse pads are so overrated and overpriced ... glass table + window film = cheapest & largest mouse pad available!

2 gaming controllers, cause I'm a control-freak! Nostromo with a D-Pad useful for some software (Firefox, Spotify, RTS), the G13 with an analog stick useful for others (Photoshop, image editing, FPS). Yes, that's another monitor beneath the glass.

For the occasional doodling and document signing: Notebook computer LCD panel + LCD controller from EBay + Wacom Graphire tablet = Poor Man's Cintiq
Learning how to draw with a tablet in this manner is actually so much easier for noobs like me.

And because it isn't covered, the backlight spills out behind and it does create some rather interesting lighting effects.

Sad that I may have to take it all apart next year....

Why it have to be taken apart ? nevertheless, great setup, by any means, are you working with CS6 a lot ?

Thanks, It's because I would be moving. I'm a web-developer by profession. More monitors is always better in my field of work. I only occasionally dabble in image editing and digital artworks.

A few more quirks about my workstation:

Cable management (or at least attempt for it) was the main goal for choosing this IKEA table and its design.

Fibreglass filters everywhere. I am that OCD against dust. You can spot the colour difference in the build up of almost 4 years of dust.

My rig's design priority was silence and an experiment in filters to see if they are effective in a dust-free interior. So yes, the top fans are reversed to maximize positive case pressure and no regard for thermal convection efficiency or any overclocking intentions. The water cooling was purely for silence; I can't stand fan noise.

Modded a IKEA glass shelf with (more IKEA) kitchen cabinet floor stands for raise the sole monitor I have without any height adjustment. From top left to bottom right:
- Batteries for my G700 mouse. That thing whacks them almost daily, more than the cow whacks credit cards in a Paris hand bag shop.
- IR receiver and transmitter.
- Some Sony home theater calibration microphone I salvaged from somewhere is used for my system's "Hello Cortana".
- G930 wireless headphone transmitter with a salvaged metal reflector stuck on top to improve its range a little.
- Network switch beneath the glass.

Bluetooth and IR-remotes for my system. Yes, the HTC M8 was bought for that reason too. Did I forget to mention I was a control-freak?

Does the fibreglass filter disrupt airflow? Where did you get them?

The fibreglass filters are actually very breathable and hardly restricts the air flow.
However, they are fibreglass and will release tiny glass dust particles which cause skin irritation and you'll need to vacuum them after you've cut and flex them into place as well as the first few days of usage. Wear gloves when you handle them.
I got mine from ACE Hardware in Mid Valley. They sell all sorts of filter panels which you can cut into shape. You can find other sponge or other fiber-based filters to try out for your rig.
