actually..i'm former KPDNKK staff...for me it's really stupid to put tulin sticker on those game especially ps3 game...its already original...they just want a small amount of money from us...
even i hated KPDNKK staff that take for granted...go to game shop...asking for free bag for laptop..as exchanged they will not rush his shop and take all pirated game...but what really happened...they still rush that shop and took everything consider pirated disc...
we want to buy ori or not....its consumer rights....i don't want spend my money to buy rm 39.90 for ori dvd..better i buy rm 7.00 pirate dvd

Basically, it is to prove that the product is original and not pirated.

The importers also need to pay for the sticker. I think it's RM0.20 per sticker. Theoretically, each sticker has a specific id that must match a reference number on a specific game disc. For example, sticker A001 must match game A001. If sticker A001 is stuck on game A002, then the authorities can send in their troops and rape and pillage the shop. Most of the time, they don't follow the regulations strictly. Only when someone files an official complaint and they have to do their "job".

and the sad thing is...all this crappy game tulen sticker stuff issue were raised by 1 dealer itself to KPDNKK. well who can blame them since they get the right to distribute certain game company's games and people buy all the games from importers which sell cheaper than them and KPDNKK come to the scene to take advantage of the situation. i know the story by one of the dealers in here who is pissed off about this

there was once when I visited Ivan, he said he cant sell PSS3 games that time. I asked him why, he replied back, no TULEN sticker, will be confiscated.

buy from lowyat sellers (no sticker) = RM170.
buy from KLCC shop (with sticker) = RM270.

The whole sticker thing is a farce and it's a burden to the sellers as well as the consumers. And anyone with half a brain can easily differentiate between original and bootlegs games. So who needs those stupid stickers? :/

AHAHAHAHA, bapak dafi ni memang agak kureng sikit. Aku masih ingat time minyak RON95 naik harga 5 sen awal tahun ni, dia boleh salah quote harga minyak mentah kat pasaran dunia ni (Dia kata minyak dah USD80/barrel padahal masih lagi USD70/barrel time tu....)

On a serious note, this explains why almost all the game shops I went recently no longer displays ANY ori game at all. Just because they import themselves or got from SG supplier and don't have the KPDNKK sticker.

So now I have one question. Let's say I want to buy ORI game but from US supplier (R1 and cheaper than R3) or Japan version (R2 and usually a bit more expensive but usually have lots of limited edition versions), I bought it online using ebay/play-asia/lowyat supplier, will they check for the sticker when the game goes thru customs?

So far I've been getting game s from ebay and play-asia last 2-3 months iwth no problems but will this situation last?

So someone (most probably cronies of the current leaders) can get the contract to supply the sticker/hologram/ink/etc.

Someone mentioned to me that the hologram supplier for cigarettes is Hishamuddin Hussein's brother....

yup, R1/R2, even PAL games are imported and release through CUSTOM whom, i believe their authority supercede KPDNKK, rite? So, like this, can KPDNKK do anything about it?

i think custom didn't check the parcel...they usually check the parcel that big and more than usual legal weight...if they think the parcel weight is more than it should...to released it..you have to pay some taxes to them.

baru jer lepas cakap dgn kawan yg keje kat KPDN...dia explain pasal sticker ni. actually mana2 barang mcm game, movie, music disc tu mmg kena letak sticker...ia terlalu dalam peruntukan undang2...dan diluluskan pada bulan Mei lepas. sticker tu boleh dapat dgn harga 0.163 sen sahaja tetapi mesti lah mempunyai surat kebenaran dr sole distributor atau dr syarikat pengeluar disc tu untuk dapatkan sticker ori tu. tak ade surat kebenaran xleh beli sticker ori tu.
ini berpunca dari laporan orang ramai...yang beli disc tu dari sesetengah kedai yg jual game ni....pekedai tu kata game ni ori...last2 bukan ori...tiruan rupanya...customer kena tipu wat laporan...tu yg KPDN letak undang2 tu

and KPDNKK will distribute those disc among themselves...only a few disc will brought to the court as proof...some of them are not really honest do those jobs....those persons..really make a bad name and down the reputation of KPDNKK...

i dont know...maybe they saw a gaming industry got to many fans...so they think this is an opportunity to make some money...they can take action long ago..but why this time they take really serious about gaming industry??its about money...they want money for them or for the next election...

dont care about the sticker, just play ur game =D
