so tammy's sharpness is better than zeiss lo?? going to singapore hope to get some lens over there~ any suggestion lens to buy ??
depends on your budget. if money is not a problem then go for zeiss, but u would lose few stops from the tamron and cost nearly 1.5x . The tamron 1750 is fast (aperture f2.8) but shorter range and increase few stops to get its sharpest . what are the lense you're currently eye-ing for? what range? need fast apertures? (sorry if stated in previous posts, im still stuck reading few pages back)
i kinda like to have the rage like 18-55 but it only up untill 55, so i looking for something more further~ saw the zeiss CONSIDERABLE cheap among the zeiss so i thought of asking all pros here to gather more info before buying it. sharpness is one of the main thing i looking at as well... any suggestion about it?
if sharpness u are aiming for then Zeiss is one of the best . the other one u should look for is the SAL16105 f/3.5-5.6 . the built quality, sharpness and IQ is nearly to the CZ1680. only that u lose abit for the aperture and gain farther focal length. price is cheaper for near same IQ, both are APS-C lens and both looks nearly the same . but from my experience the sal16105 potrait bokeh is not so nice , if focus on smaller subject i don see much difference
if bokeh wise i'd suggest u get a prime lens (50mm f1.8 / 50mm f/1.4 / 85mm f/1.4 )
gjtan : 16105 is better than tammy 1750 in some way and vice versa. (aperture vs range)

eddybeh : in what condition need largest aperture? since i think the UWA most of the time need smaller aperture.. so the largest shouldn't be a prob right if abit soft? coz not normally use it..
erm indoor shooting i guess. like weddings in hotels/halls. saw those wedding pics where the photog focus sharp2 at the brides finger (pointing to camera) and blur2 background.
@cjlai : i think if im using my kitty to take that kind of shot i have to enter the tiger's cage then sit in front of it .Usually i come there the tiger sleeps. What did you guys do? Throw stone at the tiger?
there is small fast food outlet selling fried chicken. buy 1 bucket
Bro whrs the sos? you sure lenses? Looks more like alpha cameras.. It says alpha models... If its 50% off lenses, i'll go there tmr night... Be the first
AUTO is for noobs outdoor use ISO100~200 indoor use ISO400~1600 (even higher if u have don't mind the noise ) ISO settings also depends on the lens u using. I tried using ISO200 indoors, with a 50mm@f2.8, 1/100s. photos turn out nice and sharp.
AUTO is made to ease photogs la. if u say AUTO is for noobs then why they put in higher end DSLR (settings , not dial)??? for example if you're indoors shooting with ISO 800~3200 then when outdoor forgot to change or no time to change then AUTO is handy as its ACCURATE and it lets u get shutter speed that you could handheld .
juyut : when focussing does it have awfully loud noise also? if yes then the gear stripped. better buy another one as repair could cost near to rm300-400
