QUOTE(yuhi @ Dec 12 2010, 09:44 AM) The Tammy 17-50 f2.8 is a very popular among photographers due to the price & performance. Siggy is a lil bit more expensive but I think it loses a bit in performance. Not sure if you get HSM with that. Haha! My vote would go to the Tammy unless you need the OS for video, then turn to the Siggy =) The f2.8 ish nice!1.4k lol. Well, must prioritize liao. Flash by Cny n 17-50 b4 2nd year? Lol. Ask Santa drop me either Tammy or Siggy and I shall be a good boy xD |

QUOTE(askakiat @ Dec 13 2010, 07:44 PM) A33 vs D3100? There's already many post regarding this matter. Research it yourself. Rather than feeding the troll, I choose to ignore em.
For me, brand matters not. Even on our Alpha outing, we accept other brand DSLR whom followed us through the day. If you are interested with the art of photography, then please do share your knowledge n etc here. BUT for those who wanna come in and troll, back-talking and etc, rather pointless right? Therefore, let's continue our discussion about Alpha or more here rather than replying to those people. Regardless of the difference, don't need to talk so much and let your picta do the work XD |

QUOTE(kuro0314 @ Dec 14 2010, 10:01 PM) Sharpness wise, yea it is worth it. But rather than spending so much, perhaps Tammy 17-50 f2.8 is powderful enough 4 you? The bokeh can stun people. Bump it to f4, and the sharpness from Zeiss and Tammy can be compared. Though Zeiss has the longer range. I was tempted to get the 16-80 initially and still tempted LOL! QUOTE(kuro0314 @ Dec 14 2010, 10:14 PM) so tammy's sharpness is better than zeiss lo?? Before i get my butt flamed, no. Tammy sharpness could not pawn CZ16-80. But when you bump it to f4, its decent enough to be compared. Around f2.8, the bokeh ish awesome. CZ is f3.5-f4.5. Not that it cant produces bokeh, it can. Some said Tammy's bokeh more poison compared to CZ.For me personally, this 2 are good lens, but the difference of 1k, means i need 2 think alot. For me, Tammy ish quite decent but shorter on the range. CZ has more sharpness but bokeh-wise, maybe lose out to Tammy. Personal opinion only, if there is any error, please do correct. QUOTE(kuro0314 @ Dec 14 2010, 10:28 PM) i kinda like to have the rage like 18-55 but it only up untill 55, so i looking for something more further~ saw the zeiss CONSIDERABLE cheap among the zeiss so i thought of asking all pros here to gather more info before buying it. CHEAP? sharpness is one of the main thing i looking at as well... any suggestion about it? If you want more range, 16-105 has comparable sharpness with 16-80CZ but of course cant compete 100% la. 17-50 has also decent sharpness compared to CZ but again loses out if compared seriously. Therefore, if serious want sharpness, go CZ lo. |

QUOTE(albnok @ Dec 15 2010, 01:50 AM) chiahau: No, no. My bad, poor understanding at night.Program Mode is useful for those people who use Aperture Priority all the time - let's say you were shooting in the dark at F1.4, and you take the camera out of your bag while walking past an interesting scene in daylight and BOOM! Your shot is blown. Or you shoot a landscape at F11 and then the next time you want to get a grab shot indoors, you click and you hear the shutter waaaiting. Program Mode automatically goes towards F2.0 when there is not enough light, and then pulls the ISO up if it still doesn't have enough. When in bright daylight, it pushes the ISO down, then picks a darker aperture. Program Shift is when you want to override this - say you are at F2.0 and want to roll to F1.4, or you're outdoors and want to use a faster shutter speed, so you roll it from F11 to F4. Sorry, at night, my brain a bit fuzzy liao @.@ This post has been edited by chiahau: Dec 15 2010, 02:00 AM |

QUOTE(Wonka @ Dec 15 2010, 05:30 PM) Are there any website to teach you how to use a proper white balance? Cause the other day during my annual dinner, my pics turned out abit yellowish no matter how I turned change the white balance. Either its too yellowish or blueish. Hahaha. Get a saucer from McD and calibrate your white balance using it. Someone taught me that before. Cheap, but effective. |

Erm, set your lens to MF if needed, take a McD saucer like those they use to cover your coke, aim your lens to the saucer. Saucer is located right in front of your lens. That would give you the new WB lo.Added on December 15, 2010, 7:53 pm this 1 also, how how ?? Added on December 15, 2010, 8:00 pm QUOTE(mastering89 @ Dec 15 2010, 08:25 PM) Lol.
