nice korea trip shots...too bad i dun have a dslr when i wen there a few years back..

sifus...
how to take a good moon shot? i took 1 on the fullmoon n all i got was a big bright dot...
also, seaside pictures...took 1 without flash, faces all dark, took another with flash, background overexpose, but faces lit up...
*
To take moon shot - use low ISO and small aperture. Better if you put the cam on a tripod.

For the seaside pic, meter for the background and let the flash light up the faces.

blowsh : No need f10 lar... f8 can ady... but make sure you can stabilize the camera.

Aiyak! I'm not too familiar with A230. Perhaps you need to read the manual on how to lock the exposure. Basically I point the spot meter area to the blue sky and press the AEL button to lock exposure. Then I recompose and shoot but I heard that A230 don't have an AEL button so I don't know if you can do it any other way. Maybe in the menus or something. Anyone can help?

Worst come to worst, take a meter reading of the sky. Switch to manual mode and then replicate the settings and shoot with flash on.

Second that. Even PCfair also I'll be shooting from 11am-10pm full marathon. I guess those serious shooters might need a day for shooting and the second day for cover up shooting(in case miss out anything day before) + TT considering second day won't be shooting much. biggrin.gif

Serious shooter would have gotten media pass ady. We are just going there for a little gathering and like uncle Ian says - talk cock, sing song and shoot for fun mah. Serious shooter might as well go on weekdays when the crowd is not so big and ticket price also lower.

Seriously if you are really serious about shooting the event you would not be complaining about the ticket price. You would have prepared to pay 2, 3 or more times to go shoot everything from A to Z.

The Sigma may be on par in terms of center sharpness. Corner sharpness wise, the Zeiss wins.

IQ is not only measured by sharpness. Other factors such as contrast, colours and detail resolution also should be considered.

If you can afford it, get the Zeiss. It's not labelled a Zeiss for nothing.

newbiee : Rules are laid down but then look who's breaking the rules...

Anyhow, no one can dispute the fact that the Sony A850 remains the highest resolution Full Frame camera selling at the lowest price among all the brands. <--- this insert is put here so that this post remains relevant to the topic of this thread.... LOL!!!

Wokeh! I upgraded My A850 from firmware V1 to V2.

I shot a couple of ISO3200 shots to see if there are any difference. Turns out the results are inconclusive. I did see a little improvement but I can't say that it means anything.

Here are the shots:

woahh...so how was KLIMS?
i heard it's quite disappointing for some reason
*
It was kinda disappointing because :

- there's not a lot of concept cars on display.
- there's not a lot of exotic cars on display.
- the batmobile that is tauted as a highlight was actually a badly done up cardboard model that looks like a bunch of school kid's extra curricular art project!!!! shakehead.gif

Oklah.. wanna go to sleep ady!
