if sharpness u are aiming for then Zeiss is one of the best  nod.gif . the other one u should look for is the SAL16105 f/3.5-5.6 . the built quality, sharpness and IQ is nearly to the CZ1680. only that u lose abit for the aperture and gain farther focal length.  price is cheaper for near same IQ, both are APS-C lens and both looks nearly the same . but from my experience the sal16105 potrait bokeh is not so nice , if focus on smaller subject i don see much difference

if bokeh wise i'd suggest u get a prime lens (50mm f1.8 / 50mm f/1.4 / 85mm f/1.4 )  nod.gif

gjtan : 16105 is better than tammy 1750 in some way and vice versa. (aperture vs range)
*
so you are saying that SAL16-105 is pretty close to CZ1680 but closer means that it's still not better than the CZ1680 one don't you...??? smile.gif

p/s : pun intended to who understand my post... laugh.gif

IMHO the Tammy 1750/F2.8 is a very good lens. If you are confortable with the 17-50mm range, then by all means get it. It has a brighter aperture & smaller MFD. And also much cheaper... Maybe best bang for your buck.
*
i just love the MFD...here's an old sample of me taken by albert during last year TT...taken wide open @ 17mm...

Guys, which one is better in terms of overall IQ?

Tamron 17-50 f2.8 VS Tamron 28-75 f2.8?
*
i'll go with 17-50 over 28-75...better MFD and wider compared to 28-75...
