Hi guys! Just to share, do not get the Hoco brand screen protector. It's really bad quality. Got scratches after few days of usage! Very unsatisfied with it. I paid RM30 for it.

Changed to Simplism brand, using for about a month now, very good, no scratches after a month of usage. Pretty scratch proof I'd say. Recommended. Got it for RM50.

Looking to try SGP Oleophobic once this SP get worn and torn.

As for iPhone case, I really like the casemate barely there. I myself is using Incipio feather, but prefer the Casemate more. Especially the chrome one! It looks good and provides sufficient protection.

My friend droppped his phone from about 3 feet high, the case did not break, while having protected the iPhone from damage, though there were dents on the sides. But I guess he is pure lucky, as his iphone didn't drop facing the front. Pretty recommended for those looking for a case that doesn't add bulk to the phone while providing some scratch protection. Do not expect it to protect your phone from drops!

For more protection, I will recommend the Speck Pixelskin HD. This one provides more protection than the Incipio feather and barely there, while doesn't add too much bulk on it. But still, don't drop your iPhone!

OEM, this term, in terms of iPhone cases is misused badly. I had to voice out because I'm very fed up with those sellers claiming those cases to be OEM while it is indeed a replica/fake/pirated.

So why they call them OEM? To attract customers of course. They are able to imitate 99.99% therefore, they label it as OEM so to attract more customers, customers will think that they are really from the factory that is manufacturing the real thing because of the word OEM.

Check this out:

There, a fellow forumer already kena with the so called OEM but imitation product. So better becareful next time if you see the word OEM and they claim to be original and selling by half of the original price. If you own the real thing before, you will notice instantly that it is indeed an imitation product.

Not happens to all, but I've seen a lot cases already with similiar case. Especially Speck/Incase/Belkin/Moshi brand. These 4 is the most serious ones base on my experience while I was hunting for the perfect case for my iPhone4.

add Switcheasy and SGP to that list too bro... he he...

Yeah, haha I forgot to mention SGP. Switcheasy in my hometown not that much oh suprisingly, which is a popular brand!

what is your opinion? wrap around case or full leather flip cases if I keep the phone in my jeans pocket? thanks
*
If you're paranoid about whether it will scratch your iPhone, then get the full body cover flip cases. Though I had not find any scratches on my iPhone, yet, using the Incipio feather. Just had to isolate it from keys, coins, lighters and sharp metal stuffs.

it's really un-ethical on the seller part. Most of us don't have problem with other selling fake/replica but he/she must be truthful and not deceived ppl with the OEM term, thinking that the item came from the same manufacturer as the original. We occasionally have some noob posting about having problem with this and that case without even mentioning that they are using a fake/replica case, thus lowering the confidence of those who wanna get the original case.
*
Yeap, but as you may know, no one would want to admit that their products are non-ori. So that's why the sellers use the name OEM to help them cover up their explaination when customers ask.

Yes, so it's better to grab some reviews on well known case reviewers on youtube rather than reading it here IMHO. But the price, the price can almost tell already. But still, a lot of consumers don't really care they are getting the original or fake ones until they encounter problems with their case. For enthuasists like us, we do look for quality ones beside just looking at the looks or price.

No kidding? Almost bought from that rayken fellow...
Luckily didnt...

Sellers should admit if it's replica or fake at least ppl know what it is about. I bought some SGP Oleophobic from ~winter~ when use... scratch super easy and rainbow effects like crazy... and oil smudges all over the place after short use.

Sickening.
*
Yeah, sometimes their packaging is so similiar that we, consumers could not distinguish whether they are original or imitated products, until we have purchased and used it.

QUOTE(sicklad77 @ Jan 18 2011, 02:21 PM)
It's marketing strategy.
Not much we can do is just to advice others that it is an imitation.
Most people would eventually buy it cause of the amount difference is so high.
But as you say la, pay peanuts and you'll get peanuts smile.gif
*
I think you meant the difference is very unnoticable. Yeah I agree, the imitation nowadays are so perfect that it's so hard to distinguish between them. Tsk tsk tsk. Most people will still buy because they don't really care much about the quality because it's cheap, until they found problems, scratches or scuff marks on the metal part when they remove the phone from the case.

Hmm what if he doesn't want to buy a case? Haha. Just assuming.

Well, what vimissu said is right, most of the cases includes a set of screen protector inside.

If you're interested I can sell you mine for a cheap price. Not a fan of clear type SP. Prefer matte ones.

sayang la bro, matte ones will blur the screen, dont get to enjoy the retina display...
*
Mine is acceptable la, so far haven't notice anything major. Texts are still quite clear, pictures are superb. Well, maybe mine is of a higher quality ones, not too sure and I'm not sure about the cheap ones. Maybe they do blur a lot for the cheaper ones?

Swiping is whole lot smoother, anti finger prints and anti glare. It all depends on user preference. I find it better user experience overall if using a matte SP.

Thanks. I was thinking off Incipio feather or Cadpase Barely There. Wondering if there is any difference between the two....
*
Hi bro. It's Case-mate barely there. I do notice some difference. But it's very little difference. The Incipio being just a little bit thinner, so to it doesn't cover the plastic part surrounding the screen just right above the metal part. The Barely There reveals the Apple logo which the Incipio feather doesn't reveal. That's pretty much about it.

Funny tho, the coolest cases for the IP4 are the ones that doesn't protect much at all lol.

Because actually, without any case is the coolest! Naked! Haha.

Agreed. Shame the iP4 is more or less a crystal wineglass that makes calls and runs apps heh.

Nice to see
Nice to hold
Once broken
Warranty void lol
*
LOL. Yeah. Nothing but a fragile wineglass. Do not drop your phone! Even if I had the Otterbox defender on, I would still worried about whether the glass panels got shattered inside the case while it dropeed. What a paranoid guy I am. Haha.

Nice to see, nice to hold. Once broken, it really is broken!!

Well, too bad they their so called super glass isn't that super after all.

My best friend once said, those people who own iPhone 4 and without using any case must be orang kaya. Lol. True enough.

Ok back to the topic, I haven't seen a casing that is 100% to my liking, but recently, I saw the Paramore Blaze by More-thing seems promising. It's selling $39.90. I want one! But OEM versions has already flooded the market like nobody's business.

casemate barely there or incipio feather ?? hmmmm
*
Haha. Both is very identical. But I like Casemate more due to the overall grip. But Incipio feather is slimmer by a bit, and easier to access the volume buttons. Casemate expose the Apple Logo while the Incipio feather does not.

So make your call.
