QUOTE(Laine @ Dec 13 2010, 10:23 AM) hmm... weather strip is those rubber around the car's door? n wat is firewall? thanks... My 07 Gen 2 was only 1.5yrs old when I noticed the weather strip has warped , the rubber lip was not touching the glass and allow water to go in. However, the water drained it self off the bottom , not into the interior. All 4 doors weather strip has to be replaced. The replaced strip has somehow lasted till now without warping but recently when removing door panel to repair speaker, discovered that the inner metal of the door was damp and my speaker has actually rusted , is it normal for the inner panel panel to be wet after rain??!! I still have prob of wet carpet on the frt passenger side after haeavy downpour bit I just ignored the prob..Water was trickling in from the door just below the speaker. Most likely can be cured by changing the rubber surround of that goes round the inner door frame.

If want to continue to use the buttons on steering, you will have to install an adaptor .. go to stereo shops, they should have it. The adaptor takes the signal from your ori wiring then converts it into IR signals so that the HU can be controlled. For this to happen , the HU needs to have RC function. The clarity of the ori HU is lacking and the best way to improve clarity is changing the HU, furthermore the ori player do not have RCA line out so using hi-lo converters to your amps somehow do not bring out the best sound clarity. But if you are the basshead type and not too concerned abt SQ, the ori HU with amps to sub is good enough.

QUOTE(me1314 @ Dec 15 2010, 01:03 PM) Thanks bro chulaisn for taking time to explain the question. How much is the adapter cost? Im more prefer to go for SQ, so now i need to do is change the HU and buy an adapter, right? Additional question, any recommended HU which has these function? Any suggestion on JVC HU? or Budget below RM 500 or slightly above abit. I couldnt recall the adaptor cost , prob ~ RM 200 - 400, not going to be cheap. HU with Remote control, basic ones like Pioneer, JVC etc shld be RM 400 -RM 500.. the RC is quite a common feature/option. If ur budget limited, go only for the HU with RC then decide later whether u want the steering audio control adaptor as next step of upgrade. Get a pair of tweeters at the dash or mount at door A pillar- of which I recommend , then ask shop to tune yr ori frt spkers together with tweeters using crossovers (could be aftermarket c/overs or custom made... again RM ???).This should separate the output of your ori door spkrs and tweeters into its proper freq . This suggestion should give you reasonable SQ (or even satisfying) for your budget.
