I got in my car this morning thinking to myself it will be just another normal drive to the office. A few meters later.... FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU I then slowly reversed the car into the house. My question is: Is my car safe enough to drive to the nearest tyre replacement shop (to get new rims)? Or should I get my disk brake thing checked first?p/s I should probably explain that only 1 of my tyres got stolen. They left the bolts but took the tyre. ONE TYRE. i see. because i was parking on a slope so i got disoriented and didnt feel the tilt.
plus the driver side (and also stolen tyre side) is really close to a wall so I wont really notice it unless I stand far back from the car. I guess thats why they were able to steal the tyre without much attention.
but the disk brake there already touch the ground and got bengkok a bit sure no problem ka?

i also wan the persona elegance LED tail light on my gen 2. where can i usually find these dealers ar? though i wish got some more tail light choices that are bulat bulat like stock gen2 but without the crop circle lines. anyway, back to my tyre dilemma: QUOTE My stock Gen2 facelift alloy tyre got stolen. 1 single tyre. I dont know what they're trying to achieve. Instead of buying one brand new tyre from Proton i was thinking of changing the whole set.
So I need advice on tyre rim buying so that I wont kena tipu at the rim shop.
- do they usually accept trade in?
- do they usually mark up the price of the rims/tyres so that the trade-in price becomes irrelevant? should i just keep my own tyres just in case of emergency?
- I believe the stock rims are 15". What are the rim dimension limits for the Gen2?
- should i get wider tyres? will it affect my acceleration? i think it will make cornering more stable, yes?
- what dimensions are usually recommended for gen2?
thanks in advance! This post has been edited by NightShadow: Jan 27 2011, 12:48 PM

Hi all. Thinking of just getting one new tyre from proton damansara tomorrow.
If I reach there at 8am in the morning and am first in line, do you think I can leave before 9am?
And I'm also buying a persona elegance side mirror. Does the guy have silver? I heard he will spray it for you if you want. Does he do a good job? I takut the color or gloss very clash with the rest of the car.

QUOTE(marsox @ Feb 8 2011, 06:58 PM) dont know la bro whether it simple or not, but i think if it simple(just plug n play) we can see others using it too, but for now i've never seen any gen2 using it as an example, even the old persona...last2, my member use the aftermarket LED type..sayang nk mody his tapak for that rear lamp classy siut (from a member of autoworld forum) probably look better on a silver gen2 i duno, i feel like i cant trust the aftermarket LED type. Plus, those feel a bit ah beng. I prefer something more classy. Makes me feel like im driving a B-segment vehicle haha. actually, i don't really understand what a 'tapak' is. is it part of the car body? need to hiris hiris some part so that it can fit? what is it?

QUOTE(m2m2605 @ Feb 10 2011, 09:27 AM) I still have to think more than twice to change my mind.. because the tail lamp look to "kosong" la when fitted to gen2.. hmm... still not interested yet I think that the design of PE tail light is nice but the LED light bulb is boring. I think that stock gen2 tail light crop circle design clashes with the rest of the smoothness of the car body. But I like the light bulb cluster. If only the third lubang (the one with no light) was not there, id keep the stock design. But if the stock light bulb + the PE tail light casing then its the PERFECT combination for my taste haha. Has anyone bukak the tail lights before and seen whether its possible to merge those two designs? This post has been edited by NightShadow: Feb 10 2011, 09:57 AM

Just got my PE side mirrors wired up. I was charged RM70. Rm35 each side. Did I kena sembelih? He said the RM40 ones the wire they didnt put through the rubber hose. Is this true? Anyway, service was quick 40 mins and they did a lot of testing to make sure everything works fine.
