Exactly lo! I also full of confusion & directionless with this privatization thing.

Alot of uncertainties, that's why I cut loss on QSR. And yet today it rebounded.

If privatization price is RM5.60, thereotically QSR share price wouldn't go above it. Now still has another 2% room to roam about.

I very highly suspected that too.

We wouldn't know, maybe later the share gets suspended again, then another new announcement with new privatization price is being offered, something more than RM5.60

Wah kaotoi that time!

The news is out for QSR and KFC. Idaman Saga SB has offered to buy out the business & undertaking of QSR at about RM5.60 per share. QSR's board has yet to decide on the offer.

Many things can happen but the indicative offer seems to suggest that the upside for the stock is quite limited. Like KFC, QSR share price has run up too much. Will Idaman Saga sweeten the offer? I guess it has to since the current market price is so close to the offer price. Strangely, it is the market price that is dropping now as investors decide to take profit rather than wait for a sweetening of the offer. After all, there is no guarantee that Kulim, the parent of QSR would accept the offer.

Chartwise, QSR's uptrend line support is at RM5.30. The technical outlook for the stock would turn bearish if the share price dropped below RM5.30.

QSR paper, it says

"1 Dec deadline.
QSR stated that it will not negotiate with other parties on the sale of
its business now that it is in talks with Idaman Saga. If QSR does not accept Idaman Saga’s proposal by 1 Dec 10, the latter has the right to withdraw its proposal, thereby allowing QSR to start discussions with any interested buyer."

We shall see a clearer picture by 1 Dec then.

During my recent short break, I was very encouraged by the performance of our stock market. It held up better than I'd expected. However, the indicators continued to weaken and the chances of a serious correction cannot be taken lightly. This morning, FBM-KLCI dropped 8 points to trade at 1496 (as at 10.10am). This break below the 1500 level could be the beginning of this correction. I estimate this correction would bring the FBM-KLCI to the 20-week SMA line (or, equivalent to the 100-day SMA line) at 1447. In view thereof, we should be careful in trading for the next few days or weeks.

I would rate the above scenario as a likely event. I do not rule out the possibility of a much sharper correction, with the FBM-KLCI testing its 40-week SMA line (or, equivalent to the 200-day SMA line) at 1388. This latter scenario may pan out if the USD were to rebound sharply which could be due to deterioration of the debts situation in Europe or further tightening in China. A sharp rebound in USD would lead to a roll-back of the carry trade (or, risk assets trade) which saw huge inflow of funds into emerging stock markets, such as Malaysia.

With Petronas Chemical IPO coming in next week, one of the component from FBM30 has to be taken out, and BJTOTO is chosen from the list.

Will not affect the share price, so nothing to worry about.
