I'm having some problems with my MSI P67A-GD55.

Sometimes my internet just dies on me randomly. I have to disable and enable the LAN adapter for my internet to work again. This didn't happen when I was using my older LGA775 platform.

Also, there's an unknown device in the Device Manager called "PCI Simple Communications Controller" that has the status

"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

Tried to update the driver but can't find it.

Dear paradis3lost,
First of all, i would like to advice you to update the mainboard bios to the latest version. If possible, do not use the LiveUpdate, rather do it manually. As for the "PCI Simple Communications Controller" is there any other devices you connect to the PCI slot? It could be anything, Network card, Wireless card, Sata/USB card, etc. Also you can try installing the latest Realtek Lan driver. Our avid software guru, stasio always update the latest version of drivers here in Lowyat.NET. you can get it here.

There are no cards in my PCI slots.
Tried updating the BIOS and reinstalled my network card driver. It sorta fixed it. I'm not getting those weird timeouts from the internet anymore, but now the files I shared can't be accessed through the network. Solved one problem and another surfaces D:

I'm having some problems with my BCLK. When I set it to 100MHz, it'll only get me 99.8MHz in Windows. I tried to set it to 100.0MHz in the BIOS but it got me 100.2MHz in Windows. Is there a way to make the BCLK to 100MHz like the default on Asus boards?

Also, the Vcore is always higher than what I set it to be in the BIOS e.g. I set 1.3V, it'll go to 1.32V. Tried enabling the Low Vdroop but it is still the same D:

Dear paradis3lost,
It's very normal for the frequency to fluctuate fro it's original speed. In this regards the BCLK. But diabling Intel SpeedStep may solve this issue. It can be found in the OverClocking Center in BIOS. As for VCore fluctuation, are you using the latest BIOS? If not try to update it and see whether it helps. Cheers.

Just found out that even Asus boards have fluctuating BCLK. But Asus boards features less Vdroop over the Vcore.

not really.. even last time i tested the crosshair4extreme (most exp asus AMD mobo) , vcore fluctuate quite alot but still acceptable..

and MSI z68 gd80 u can say the vcore not fluctuate at all..depends on model i think..

Well I used to own a P45 series motherboard from Asus and it had a pretty stable Vcore. But yeah, I guess you can't ask too much from mid range products tongue.gif

Hi MSI-MY, I have a MSI P67A-GD55 and when I took it out to clean my casing the other day, I notice that one of the screws on my motherboard has rusted (the one that holds the heatsink over the MOSFETs). Is there any way I can get a replacement screw for that?

Edit: Actually noticed that 4 screws are rusted... not just 1 sad.gif

Dear paradis3lost,
Noted on that. Maybe we could find few screws to spare. Please allow some time for us to do so.
Thank you.
