MSI Z68A-GD80 (G3) Mainboard Wins Top International Honors, Including 2012 CES Innovation Design and Engineering Showcase Award & 2011 IT Month's ‘Outstanding IT Applications and Products Award’

user posted image

【Taipei – Taiwan Nov. 8, 2011】 At Computex 2011 MSI rocked the mainboard market with the MSI Z68A-GD80 (G3), world's first PCI Express Gen 3 mainboard. With exclusive features such as ClickBIOS II, which integrates UEFI BIOS with Windows, OC Genie II, which boosts performance up to 457% in just one second, as well as MSI’s Military Class II Components. These advanced technologies have set off a wave of innovation among other mainboard makers and enabled MSI to earn the coveted "Innovation Design and Engineering Showcase Award" at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the largest show of its kind in the US, as well as the IT Month’s Outstanding IT Applications and Products Award for 2011, organized by the Taipei Computer Association, the most trusted and respected IT organization in Taiwan.

The two awards are considered top industry awards in Taiwan and overseas. What really makes the Z68A-GD80 (G3) stand out is the fact that it is the first MSI mainboard to win the CES Innovation Design and Engineering Showcase Award, beating out hundreds of other entries in more than 30 different categories from around the world. As for the Taipei Computer Association's IT Month Outstanding IT Applications and Products Award, MSI emerged from a field of more than 200 competing entries and was also the only mainboard among the 18 winning products. The accolades not only represent industry recognition of MSI's leadership in product design but, more importantly, the faith of consumers and actual support for the product. For MSI, this inspires employees to achieve new heights in product quality and user satisfaction. In this way, MSI is setting an example for the rest of the industry to follow and encourages productive competition.

MSI's Z68A-GD80 (G3) is not just the world’s first high-end PCI Express Gen 3 mainboard—it has also won unanimous praise from professional enthusiasts in regional overclocking competitions around the globe. Its four main features include:

- World's first PCI Express 3.0 mainboard: Double the bandwidth for unparalleled performance
- Exclusive ClickBIOS II: Dual-interface BIOS optimization utility for UEFI BIOS and Windows
- OC Genie II: Increase performance by 457% in just 1 second
- Military Class II Components: Military-certified materials offer the best quality and stability.

About the Two Major Global Awards
The Innovation Design and Engineering Showcase Award announced each year at the Consumer Electronics Show, the largest show of its kind in the US, is considered a benchmark for the global industry. A judging committee made up of professional industrial designers, product engineers, and members of the media apply the most rigorous standards to select the most innovative electronic products from tens of thousands of entries. Competition is fierce, and being honored with this award means the winner possesses its own unique R&D techniques for product design and craftsmanship.

The IT Month’s Outstanding IT Applications and Products Award is organized by the Taipei Computer Association, the most trusted national-level IT organization in Taiwan. The award is very sought after by top Taiwanese electronics makers as a sign of their successful R&D capabilities. The aim of the competition is to highlight outstanding IT systems from different industries as well as innovative software and hardware products. The award presentation and product exposure helps to boost the overall standard of R&D and applications. It serves as a beacon for the domestic IT industry, and winning this award signifies that the company is a strong contributor of innovative technologies.

Freedom1104,
Normally you need to push the OC Genie II button then restart. After than using CPU-Z to check whether it does OC or not.

jlauys,
I believe it can't be off. unfortunately.

Dear mekboyz

Here is the difference for MSI P67A- GD55 over GD65

- lack of 2 sata ports (marvell controller)
- lack of 2 e-sata ports at the back I/O panel
- lack of backup BIOS (1 BIOS Chip instead of 2 for GD65)
- lack of socket for voltage check point

Regards.

dear MSI-MY,

Thanks for the reply.

I think this is beyond your job scope, thus asking this as a favor. When the R6870 TFII is in stock, is it possible that you post here or drop me a PM?

cheers,

Dear hieroplant

To off the MB LED, go into bios, and seek the option under Green Power
For the fan speed, try setting > advance HW Monitor
