Bought my first statue of Kotobukiya Alisa Limited Edition. Because of that, now I am fully into figurines. Oh fecked...... Now i already have 11 statues in 2 months. Phail . Now i am struggling to find place to put them. Thank god most that i purchase are decent and non flashy statues. Else if family visit, lots of explaining to do. "Mom, thats just.. U know. That?" I am kinda new to this. So roughly i know there are statue, figma (with articulation) and nendriods? I kinda prefer statue over figma because they seems more presentable. Prefer mature / realistic details over cuteness. Now i am browsing forums/fb/jpn webs searching for figs that i like. Sometime i feel this hobby is passed my age, but the urge to collect is so strong.. :3 This post has been edited by Poodlepaddly: May 23 2013, 12:18 AM

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ May 23 2013, 12:35 AM) 11 figures in 2 months sounds rich Im just a student anyway. I went from Gunpla to PVC statues as well (partly thx to all the professionally taken photos of figures you see in blogs, and the fact i began watching almost every single ongoing anime, even now). But my first step was hunting down all the figures i missed. Bad time to start collecting figures back then, budget low and people showing off their BRS, Saber Lily Distant Avalon which just came out around a month or two. I eventually hunted down all of them one by one before they get more expensive. Since then scale figures are almost the only thing i only go for now, nendoroids and gunpla are very minimal is any My x-rated figures aren't much (many characters i either dont know much or not interested), but my parents had seen them before. Their only question "You like big boobs ah?". i think i know what u mean, hunting down all the past figurines. went to "certain" well known local shop and all i got was "you are too late", "not selling", ask one question get one answer, the typical eat pao sell pao kinda attitude. Some was quite stuck up showing faces. Sienz. So i decided to go online. Bought a few old figs from sellers here at a better price, by collectors and understands collector's queries. Even buying straight from Japan was better than dealing with local shops. But i manage to get most of the older figs from the sellers here. Now trying to hunt the Odin's Sphere figs from PS2. Love the ladies figurines of Gwendolyn, Mercedes and Velvet This post has been edited by Poodlepaddly: May 23 2013, 01:48 AM

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ May 23 2013, 01:47 AM) Some rare figures which people from other countries are complaining hard to find (such as in myfigurecollection.net), and expensive in Japanese sites, you can actually find them lying around in old stocks section of some local figure shops without an overpriced price tag.' Wah, Alter's Gwendolyn, Mercedes and Velvet kinda hard to find. Yahoo Auction Japan might have it, but you'll need an agent/proxy to get it. Still going to end up paying a lot. Yeap. I am into specific old figurines of specific titles. So far hook on Odn's Sphere, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Metal Gear Solid and others. I am scared to venture into more titles as each titles are lead to more choices. Say some queries please.. 1. What is the normal shelf life for statue in Msia. Say aftr 4 years the paint will worn off or the pvc gotten softer? Since the figs will not be relaunch, so thats all, gone by the time? 2. Is there any place in KL/Msia i can get a decetn display shelf other than the detolf from IKEA? ( I hate detolf... no offence )

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ May 26 2013, 04:07 PM) LED, spotlights, should be fine. But if you do have display shelves with spotlights it's not recommended to turn them on all the time. Just let the figures get exposed to natural light (but not directly by sunlight), and your normal house's lights are fine as long it is not of fluorescent variant. Nowadays many of my figures stay in box, and i flip them around with the window facing the wall, while a few others stay in 3 of my wood cabinets. Only a few figures i display in my room. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Nice collection there EXKrurogane. I see Saber Distance Avalon and Rin! I bought a few statues this week also. Didnt had the time to take any photos but they are all my long waited statues. Spent about 2.9k alone this month for statue. Even the seller is telling me i gone overboard. Damn, impulse shopaholic.... Its all lowyat fault.

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ May 29 2013, 01:51 PM) 1 simple clue for everyone, Good Smile's figures price usually maintain a stable price or enter bargain bin except online exclusives, especially since they screwed up BRS animation over a year ago. Saber Cuirassier also showed no signs of price hike yet, and IMO the only saber which the price will go up again is once again the Distant Avalon (which i think is more valuable than Golden Caliburn). Saber Triumphant Excalibur's price is still stable also, at RM 400 range. I dont really listen to rumors, i monitor the figure market and various other forums myself to predict what will happen. So far i only know the companies with potential price surge after release is Alter/Hobby Japan, Orchid Seed/Amakuni and Native. Alpha Max's mainstream figures, PLUM, Fap Company, FREEing, price also drop kaw kaw. Im still waiting to see how the new companies Lechery (Kaitendoh renamed) and Arcadia (Yamato renamed) will end up. I am new to figuries, but why would a company call themself a FAP company? That is just so wrong lolol.. Just bought Saber Distance Avalon for RM480 and Triumphant for RM330. I have never watch saber anime before (other than playing her on warcraft Fight of Character game lol) But saber sure seems to stand up when place with other figurine on shelf. The post and body texture is definitely a stopper even for non figurine collectors. Sapu-ed 5 more statue last week.. Gonna kena warning red card from gf soon..
