Surprise! United's virus-hit stars fit for derby after all

Sir Alex Ferguson has been boosted by the recovery of most of his first-team stars from a virus ahead of tonight's Manchester derby.

Rio Ferdinand has been suffering from diarrhoea but will start against Manchester City, while Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Darren Fletcher, Dimitar Berbatov and Paul Scholes have all been given the all-clear.

Several United players, including Scholes, were sent home from training this week after a virus spread through the squad and staff, with Sir Alex Ferguson also laid low for a couple of days after contracting it.

But the core of Fergie's first-team has recovered in time for the City clash at Eastlands.

Nani has recovered from a groin injury he suffered in last week's 3-0 win away to Bursaspor, but Sir Alex Ferguson has yet to decide whether to start with the winger.

Manchester City expect Carlos Tevez to be fit after he suffered a minor injury in training yesterday.

well it does actually.the draw is seeded but not as many as 8 pots as we had for the grp stages.its down to 4 pots if im not mistaken.but my real pt was is there any easy team left??? biggrin.gif .i say no since you have to be some thing when you've reached last 16, finest of the europe 32 that started.
hmm sorry bruce, this one is a manc born and bred so its a bit hard to let him go.but we thank you for the learning curve his getting tho.this loan spell is doing danny's confidence wonders and with us still only having 3 confirmed forwards, the 4th spot is still open and i expect wellbeck to fill it and at some pt to move up the ladder among the forwards.
