uh-ohh.
Peter Schmeichel believes Manchester United are making a mistake in their bid to sign Anders Lindegaard from Norwegian side Aalesund.
United are reportedly close to wrapping a £3.5m for the 26-year-old Denmark international as they look for a long-term successor to veteran number one Edwin Van der Sar.
But Red Devils legend Schmeichel, who spent eight successful years with United, does not believe Lindegaard is good enough for the Old Trafford giants.
He said: “We are talking about Manchester United here.
“You can look at young talent, you can look at young, good players. You don’t want that. You want someone who can go straight away and give performances in 80% of the games the No 1 keeper will play Manchester United.
“Too many goalkeepers have been in and out of the doors. Now, for this team to win trophies, that position has to be someone who is of the very, very highest quality but also with the right experience.”
