u can drive Singapore registered vehicle if u are holding a tourist status (white card) for a 12 months. If u have any resident status in Singapore (eg, work pass, student pass, PR) you need to obtain a Singapore driving license to drive a Singapore registered vehicle. But u still can drive a Malaysian car into Singapore provided the following conditions are met.

a) he is the registered owner of the vehicle ;
b) he does not have a permanent residential address in Singapore and returns to his country of origin on a daily basis ;
c) the vehicle is kept or used outside Singapore for a total period of 6 hours or more everyday ;
d) he has a valid insurance certificate and road tax for the use of the vehicle on Singapore roads ; and
e) the vehicle has an Autopass Card to validate its entry/exit at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints and for payment of Vehicle Entry Permit/Toll charges.

Please check LTA website for more info.

True. I used to study in Sg for A levels and Uni. Foreigners on student pass is not allowed to drive a Singapore registered car regardless whether u obtain International Driving permit. The only way to drive legally is to get a Singapore driving license. but in doing so, your Malaysia driving license will be forfeited. Meaning ur msia driving license will be canceled once u get sg driving license.

Regardless of period, but if you have student pass they can deny you entry if you drive malaysian car in.
Sometimes they close 2 eyes, they usually will open eyes if you keep driving in.

I used to own a SG driving license, which already expired a few years back.
When I renewed MY driving license a few months back, somehow the first 2 lines of my address on the card shows my previous SG address but the last 3 lines shows my MY address.
Seems like the JPJ database is a little bit haywire

I know that SG license is lifetime, no expiration date. I am planning to convert MY license because of this reason...

How can your SG driving license expired if it is lifetime?

Lifetime only for Singaporean and PR.
If EP, Work permit holders, will follow the work pass expiration date.
Anyway, as I left Singapore since 2015, not sure if the rule still valid
