Bro, can I ask, custom config of JFS just for /data and EXT4 for the other partitions fixes the GMT+0 timezone reset problem after every boot? I keep getting this issue with all partitions on JFS..

You should install the exe file, and copy the map from C:\Navi to your sgs.

I have been using Papago M6 with MFM-Papago 100415 map for 2 mths without any problem. However, i fail to use the new mfm maps, experienced force close every time i initial papago M6.
*
M6? So u are using the MFM unsupported "AHEM" version whistling.gif

if im not mistaken its the wave interference. although no call in were there but auto sync etc still receiving waves which will cause interference when placed beside radio.

if u concern about health.. yea.. electronic waves doesnt bring any harm in very3 small quantity smile.gif
*
Fr my experience, 2g will interfere with radio or CRT monitor (screen distorted when incoming call ring). 3G dun have this problem

i read somewhere new superamoled will use very much less power than current one and of coz longer life time (you can google this). this alone + gingerbread experience is making me drool.  drool.gif of coz here hoping samsung will stop using rfs file system forever.

but if our galaxy s got gingerbread then i will be happy with my galaxy s  rclxms.gif
*
The cynogen developers in xda already confirm that RFS is not the root cause of the lag on SGS, they can achieve quadrant 1600++ with RFS on cynogen rom. So its actually the samsung custom rom screw up

Serach for "vending.apk" in Doc's rom thread & inject into /system/app replacing the current one

LOL one of the solid reason i choose SGS over IP4, i use my SGS to snap photos for my work. I will go mad if my phone cant do mass storage transfer coz my comp's server will block large file size email

Nexus 1 & Desire are the catalyst for Android. Galaxy S is the propagation that follows through. And now with all those Desire HD, Droid X, and basically everybody else jumping on the bandwagon, Android is going to enter Explosion state (or in the midst of it).

Google knows this, and that is why their Nexus 2 ought to be significantly better than N1 (Not like IP4, not much diff from 3GS).

That is why I believe the rumour that Google and Sammy working on N2 is true, coz Google knows Sammy is good on making superb hardware, but lacks on software. Their joint effort could define a new era coming for Android development.

Just my opinion though. brows.gif

I wonder how the gps perform (I still believe that the early batch of SGS have GPS hardware glitch, not software issue) hmm.gif

Hey guys, I just got hold of galaxy tab hours back. Running froyo is very smooth. Like my SGS eclaire on Voodoo. The UI looks more like ADW launcher. Camera got flash. Feels really good on my hand. Don't feel like buying one, but I don't mind owning one either, haha  biggrin.gif .

Btw, it is rooted.  drool.gif The maxis promoter says stocks already finish. Probably need to wait till next year. Don't know how true is that. Well here are the pic I took:

1) Check from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703 look under alternative modems

2) Download it

3) copy the files to sdcard

4) then reboot into recovery (CWM)

5) i remove lagfix (some say u dun need to do that, but i prefer to unlagfix, afterall, it is very easy to lagfix from CWM options)

6) Once in Clockworkmod, select “install zip from sdcard”

7) Select “choose zip from sdcard” and then select the zip file. Then choose yes

8) then it will reboot, then i choose the ULF with the ext 4 again.

9) reboot the phone.

that it.
*
Flashing modem no need to remove lagfix

Something to share:

Multi touch in the gallery, you can pinch in a folder and spread your fingers apart, expanding some of the pics in that folder (froyo)

im not sure, but i just clean everything b4 flashing new rom.
*
update fr previous doc's rom no need factory reset unless you facing brick. Just make sure that u have a nandroid backup before upgrade just in case the CWM update fail.

In summary, to upgrade:

1. From 2.1 to Doc's 2.2, need to factory reset & must not restore system backup from Titanium backup, user apps is OK

2. From previous Doc's 2.2 to newer version, NO need factory reset but a nandroid backup for assurance

3. For those with lagfix, to save the time of backup & disable/re-enable lagfix, you can just directly update to new rom via CWM, but upon reboot & back to CWM recovery menu, you need to set back the lagfix & tweak option as per the setting before upgrade.

The rom need to deodex so it may take more than 10min to reach the home screen, so be patient. Unless after 30min u still hanging at the samsung logo then u may need to reflash
