I download from this one:
http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewtopic.php?f...14083aed68fe912

The custom map, 101104C.

So I just copy the Navi folder into my SGS? That is it?
*
Just copy all the files in mfm-ppg-101104C folder into Navisea/Maps/Malaysia folder n it ll work like a charm. :-)

1. On the Android phone, press on HOME > MENU button and then tap Settings.
  2. Tap on Wireless & networks or Wireless controls.
  3. Tap on Mobile networks or Mobile network settings.
  4. Tap on Access Point Names.
  5. On the APNs screen, press MENU button and then tap New APN.
  6. In the Edit access point screen, enter the APN settings by tapping on the APN setting item to edit it.

Set the Name to a random fake name, such as Off.
Set the APN to a random fake value, such as blank.
Other items can be left blank.
  7. Press MENU button and then tap Save to save the settings to phone.
  8. A new APN will be shown. Press the circle to the right of the new APN to select it as the active APN.
I followed the above steps and done now..hopefully it doesnt suck up my credit anymore..anyway what effect will it have if i disable APN? Can still access wifi and internet?
*
Why all the trouble? Just go to android market n download one of the apn on-off app. Wth tht u can turn the data on or off by a toggle switch.:-)

Can someone confirm tht papago x5 works well on froyo. My papago works perfectly on stock eclair--no lag at all n locks in immediately. Wth launcher pro, I m also quite happy wth the performance. So, I m reluctant to switch to 2.2 now, unless papago works wth it. Can someone wth papago x5 on froyo pls confirm. Thnks.

U r not the only one. ;-) I m also on stock eclair. I m very happy wth my papago x5 now n am hesitant to switch over unless I m sure papago has no problem wth 2.2. Some people reporting no problem wth papago x5 on 2.2, so I may switch later..

did u guys use a-gps?

How exactly dose a-gps thingy work? By ticking the wireless network tht will make it work? Can it work without the data on or u need to turn on the data?

I have set to Method 2 back when I was on Eclair.

Locking was fast, accuracy was still shit.  laugh.gif
*
I m on stock eclair. My papago locks in very fast n tracks me right to the dot (no lag) which is why I m hesitant to switch over to froyo just yet.

normally,i just did it when cold start.
*
This means tht when u r starting fr cold, u turn on agps n data to help lock in. Once ur position is locked in, u can switch off data n use papago only for navigation. Is my understanding correct? So far I m lucky, my papago locks in immediately n the navigation is precise to the dot without any agps n data. ;-)
